    Front wheel bearings TD5

Thats bull. I just replaced the bearings. have to get them from the main dealer though. No one else seemed to stock them when I did mine. Looked everywhere. And yeah you will struggle with a box spanner. To get mine off with a box spanner I put the biggest allen key that would fit through the...

    Roof Lights

Yeah, just depends who fitted them. There will be an inline fuse somewhere in the system I would imagine. I fitted mine in the dash.

Thats what I was thinking, wasn't sure though. Anyone know how to dismantle one? I believe you need a specialist spanner?

    Speaker positions ??

I made some brackets out of some scap aluminium and mounted them in the corners of the roof at the back. It's easy enought to do but you have to cut the roof liner down if you have one.

    TD5 Cooling Fan Siezed

I'm probably just beind dumb but before it siezed you could spin the fan without turning the belt. I hope the water pump hasn't seized, it's only a year old. Also if it were the water pump would the belt not be slippling ont the water pump pulley? Cheers

    Front wheel bearings TD5

Splitting hairs but the socket size is 52.3mm and the job is so much easier with a proper socket.

    Towing a Defender

I can tow trailers but only upto a certain weight. The landy towed with a towing frame would be under weight but the landy on a trailer would be over the weight. Once the trailer plus load reaches a certain weight it is at this point that you require the C+E. Also I do believe the landy would...

    Truck Cab 110 advice please

My TD5 does about 23mpg on the motorways. The ride is quite hard and there is a fair bit of noise. Particularly wind noise but if you can cope with that they are great. I use mine as a fishing/hunting truck and you can't beat them. Fun to drive, I find mine quite comfortable and you can't beat...

TD5 Defender Flickering Hand Brake Warning Light

Hi, The handbrake warning light on my TD5 90 is constantly flickering when I'm driving. It has done this before on a couple of occasions. The first was when the front pads needed changing. Which is understandable. The second was due to a wire to the ECU from the alternator shorting to the...

If you get a TD5 though DON'T try running veg oil. All the others, TDi's, TD's, N/A etc are fine but the injectors are different on a TD5.

    TD5 Alternator Problems

Yeh stil got the old one. The new one is brand new. The voltage off the car voltmeter used to show around 14.1 volts when the engine was running and would increase when you reved the engine slightly to 14.3. It's wired into the radio circuit.

    Jag to Defender 90

My TD5 gets about 28mpg normally and 23mpg on motorway journeys, but then I do usually do 70mph+. The ride is a bit bumpy but not too bad. Be warned though landy's are contagious!
