Hi,

The fan on my TD5 has siezed solid. Instead of being able to freely turn it by hand now when you turn it it's stiff and turns the pulley too. Any ideas? Anyone know how to take it apart also?

Cheers

sound to me like ur water pump has seized. to make sure this is the problem ,first take of the fan belt and then see if u can move the fan if not it is more than likely that the waterbpump is the problem.

I'm probably just beind dumb but before it siezed you could spin the fan without turning the belt. I hope the water pump hasn't seized, it's only a year old. Also if it were the water pump would the belt not be slippling ont the water pump pulley?

Cheers

f the pump had siezed - you would still be able to turn the fan - it has to be the viscous coupling.

Thats what I was thinking, wasn't sure though. Anyone know how to dismantle one? I believe you need a specialist spanner?
