Changed to a Sony cd player in a 300tdi. Open the door or switch interior light on & radio/cd switches off. Presume they share the same wiring loom?

no gasket just an o ring but needs to be suitable for engine temperature...

On 300tdi's it's usually the spring fitted inside the lock mechanism,not sure for TD5's

Difflock do a range of oils that seem to work fine.

Anyone have a rear window wiper motor assy to sell for a 300tdi 96 disco. Must be later version with plug in connectors & not soldered joints. Work in Bucks,live in Warwicks.

Replaced head gasket on 300tdi. Followed the Haynes manual except numbering the valve caps. Will check valve clearance but engine is a non starter at the moment. Loads of smoke though. Should No1 piston be at tdc for hg replacement?:o

My cylinder head gasket went last week . I was offered an engine exchange by Town & Country Landrovers,Leamington Spa,Warwickshire for circa £1000-00 with a known good secondhand engine.

Smoking is now in clouds when pulling away Blue/white in colour. Checked intercooler & all pipework some oil present ; breather pipes clear. Other forums suggest a compression test & likely head gasket. This was changed 94k miles ago ,approx 5 years are they realy that much of a consumable!!!

Disco 300 tdi 194k regular servicing Smokes on tickover once warmed up but not from cold All filters oil changed on frequent basis. No smoke during normal driving? Smoke is noticed by others!!!

Try GSF or Euro Car Parts; if you have a local branch. They sell Fuchs (German quality oil) should be cheaper than Halfrauds...

The heater controls are no longer illuminated. Are they controlled by a rheostat or is just bulb/fuse replacement.

Have been on Britpart standard height springs for 3 years;are ok still.

The trade use a tool like a screwdriver with a vee grove. Use a large flat blade screwdriver but have some spare clips as usually some will break off.

Had the same problem on an Audi A6 after replacing a PAS hose.It seemed to self bleed after a couple of months.Turned lock to lock but didn't seem to make any difference...

replaced the connector on the back of each headlamp with a new wire & seperate spade connector,lamps are now brighter...

are you sure that the injectors are ok? the turbo should 'kick in ' @1800 with a noticable change in speed

try molegrips or get a hacksaw onto the underside of the bolt head

Replaced the spring but found that all the linkages were 'loose'. Bought a replacement from a scrap vehicle instead.

Asked at GSF car parts for Disco engine oil,they asked the mileage & then advised heavy duty 15/40. It meets all the specs in the original owners manual...
