    Had the same feeling on my 1991 90 plus I could smell the drum getting hot. A couple of hours to strip, clean & rebuild. Mine was old solidified grease in the expander had glued the pistons and not allowing it to release. Good as new now

    Really depends on its history, same as any wagon/engine. Very basic plodding engine that with regular servicing just keeps on going. I have a 1991 n/a 90 that hasn’t given a problem for the last 6 years that I’ve had it. Suits me and I have no intention of changing the engine.
