For Sale - 5 Wheels & Tyres (Defender)

Just noticed I put the tyre size as 31.5, they're 31x10.5x15's. I was only thinking of £50ish, £10 a rim can't be bad? Looking at the prices they go for on eBay I have to question who bids these things up! If they don't go on here I'll bang them on there, can't be arsed selling on the bay...

For Sale - 5 Wheels & Tyres (Defender)

Does anyone need a spare set of wheels? They ain't pretty but they're all legal an might help someone out for not a lot of money: They are Camac Terra 4x4 tyres with tread depths mostly down at 4 - 6mm but one has 12mm and looks like it's almost always been the spare - size 31.5x10.5x15...

Defender 90 rear front facing seats

I went the way of the mini bus seats too but a different type: They don't fold away but I find it better to unbolt them and remove them completely when I don't want them in there, seat belts are part of the seat too. They're out of an LDV van. It does limit your insurance options though...

How long have you gone without a puncture?

Never had one in the Landy, it's used about 50 / 50 on and off road but doesn't clock to many miles per year. The MINI has had two in the last 12 months - unlucky I guess as I can't even remember the last one before that

    Suck or blow ??

Depends which way you wire it up!

    Carbon fiber defender

I can only talk for myself and it would be a strait no. Unless it was structural and actually improved something it would just be some bling that doesn't belong on a Fender. That said I wouldn't touch any of that alloy crap that seems to sell well (bar the door hinges - they are a nice bit of...

Legal to drive with no front bumper?

I read ona classic Mini forum that some MOT testers fail Mini's with the bumpers removed and some don't - I'd think that's the same with Land Rovers hence the confusion. I'm sure you could pick a standard bumper up for next to nothing

    200tdi smoke

My 200Tdi Defender smokes like heck if I leave it idling for a while, I was queuing to get out of Oulton Park once and it looked like a forest fire when I finally stood on the accelerator! In normal operation there's a slight bit of smoke on start up then nothing. As said, a good run may be all...

Connecting a modern stereo into 200tdi loom

There are loads of extra wires you can use to take your feeds off, I used a multi meter to find permanent / ignition lives and used which ever wire suited. I wired in the standard type of block connector so if I swap head units it's just a case of unplugging the old and plugging in the new. I'll...

Def swerves on left braking - HELP ME PLEASE

It could be something on the rear suspension; if there's play there it could be your rear axle moving slightly so it steers the front left?

    Got me a Winch Bumper

I got a self adhesive plate for mine when I fitted my plate to the vent - saves any drilling. If you're up for some lanes in North Wales let me know, I've just become the Wrexham rep for GLASS and know a few good (legal) lanes

    Is it Legal to

I have my plate on the N/S vent, it's been there for a year or so and I've had no issues. Living in North Wales I'm used to the Police pulling people for the slightest thing (all be it when I'm on the bike) so I'm sure it wouldn't be an issue. It's obvious I'm not trying to hide anything as it's...

What tools/equipment can't you live without?

Loving the amount of brutality coming through on this thread! In the spirit of whacking / grinding / burning things I'm going to throw in safety glasses...

What tools/equipment can't you live without?

Rivnut / Nutsert tool, it's great to replace all the nut and bolt things that are a swine to get to both sides

    Changing Oils

They're permanent 4WD the only thing you alter is the locking centre diff. Yes it's inefficient but it wouldn't be much better in 2WD - aerodynamics and having to rotate most the weight anyway.
