if the bulb flickered it could be a connection issue with the wires from the striker unit or the striker unit it self inside the headlight ,when he changed the ballast did he give you the old one ?

for the lights to work there are 3 bits xenon ecu on back of headlight ,xenon striker inside the headlight and the bulb if you don't know where that is well !!.

front passenger side fuse box fused link 5 its 100amp according to rave feeds rear fuse box but there may be a 2nd one in the rear fuse box .

by head light unit you mean the actual headlight I take it.

should be ok as long as they are the square ones with the hole for the wiper arm ,and if yours are bi xenons then make sure they are.

check the power to the rear fuse box the remote central locking reciever is fed from a fuse in there(fuse14) as are the rear tailgate lock electrics ,
