The blocks are the same (gems to gems) (Thor to Thor)only crank ,rods ,pistons are different to make 4.0 or 4.6

Done the same with mine on lpg

No special tools needed,you won't know what it needs until stripped,have heard of oil pump gears cracking in the v8,gears are available,may need a new front cover,could just be pressure relief valve stuck,you might do all that start it up and sound like a tractor because big end and main bearing...

Td5? Known fault is oil pump sprocket bolts work loose ,and sprocket doesn't turn the pump anymore,will be intermittent to start with then just end up with no pressure

I'm a builder so have some ,but you will be able to hire some for a weekend from hire company's,as long as it's the heavy duty steel stuff not the aluminium towers,8ft by 8ft square tower about 15 ft high then there is enough height for straps etc,just tripple the batons up so plenty strength...

Wouldn't drag the wheels sideways,the rear axle will stay parallel with front axle but the body will be driving Squint with the rear end out at one side or the other ,that's crabbing,if both rear tyres are wearing on the insides the wheels are either toe out or cambered

If there were worn bushes etc yes the axle would move ,but the vehicle would just crab and be out of align,both rear wheels should stay parallel with each other

Would love a sapphire cosworth,they have independent rear suspension,usually when they are lowered or being driven in anger from the lights the wheels tuck in the arches and show a lot of camber,so they will munch the insides of rear tyres,but on a live axle it's impossible for it to camber wheels,

The rear wheels can't possible be out its a live axle ,unless it's bent,cheap tyres?rubbing somewhere?wheel bearings knackered?

4.6 v8 average 12.5 on lpg around town,on a run if you reset comp goes up to average around 18 on lpg,Edinburgh to Blackpool cost £40 lpg(200 miles)

Get a good code reader plugged onto it and watch live data as its cranking,check the fuel pressure ,rpm signal etc can't remember what the fuel pressure should be on cranking ,but would expect at least 150-200 bar

If they are 300 tdi disco non abs how much you want for them?
