    Insurance for a 90

Currently paying .... (Drum roll) £53 fully comp classic policy. Its gone up £2 in the last four years. Not entirely sure its worth the paper its written on but hey ho throw in FOC road tax a depreciation proof vehicle and I may have (fuel aside) the cheapest motoring costs in the UK?

    My veg conversion.

Two words - ring gumming. On SVO this is an issue with vegetable oil hitting the cold piston crowns. Lots of evidence out there on SVO even if heated and the engine is started on it from cold ring gumming will follow.

    My veg conversion.

Well it means Daisy can run Bio - WVO or SVO properly. TDi engines need a twin tank set up and this is one of those, with diesel at £1.40 a litre its now an option to run either. I accept that the cost - about £700 plus my time is a long recovery for a low mileage vehicle.

    My veg conversion.

So finally.... Inspired perhaps by the Youtube footage guy who offered up his conversion and after reading all you folks thoughts and experiences I have completed the conversion. Most parts were new (tank excepted) and the best quality I could find. Indeed I found out some fittings were not good...

    Tyre Size ?????

Your speedo or gearbox drive is fooked then. With those tyres it should read a higher speed than if fitted with 235/85's. I have yet to meet a Defender that is actually travelling faster than the speedo reads leave aside one that does 8mph more at an unknown speed? 10mph/60mph??? As always...

Used Land Rover Defender world... lies, lies and more lies....

Agreed. The guy sells perhaps the worst trade sold Defenders any where I know.

Used Land Rover Defender world... lies, lies and more lies....

OP You will come to realise that Defenders are owned by a wide variety of folk, some as bent as a cork screw, others thicker than pig ****. There are however good sellers and owners out there but sadly Forums such as this one seem to attract far more of the former. Expect nothing but...

    Suspicious about milage still...

Do not forget the 200/300Tdi is the only eengine that will run happily on veg oil. The option of fueling on SVO can not be underestimated in the future as 27/9 mpg cars become ever more expensive to run.

    Looking to recondition a Defender

Why not? Half the idiots on here that slobber on about feck all would not recognise their own half inched truck and the other half drive a pinched one themselves so also do not care.

Tell us something we didnt know:D

    Looking to recondition a Defender

Why not steal one or get some one to pinch one for you. I reckon a 300Tdi is best 90 or 110 u choose. All you need to do is mod it slightly - a lift kit plus some other touches, make it look like a modded pay n play special. Half the sad sacks on this site wouldnt recognise their own truck...

    Ebay .... More Dodgy Defenders......?

It certainly has had some modifications - its a 94 model! For some of you hundreds of posts posters you clearly know feck all about Defenders and just slobber on learning nothing. Ben - you are not intelligent enough to recognise 'evidence' if it ran you over, so I will waste no more time on...

    Your right. I give up.

    Ebay .... More Dodgy Defenders......?

Feck me the IQ quotient for Landrover owners I appreciate is not high but you Ben are moving the average down single handed. The point here ..... for the upteenth time is nothing aside of the disguise gear (winch/control arms etc) is an exchange part for an older part - the whole car is a 94...

    Ebay .... More Dodgy Defenders......?

Are you being stupid on purpose? Photos are evidence and each one of those show a 94 onward Defender. Nothing in any of them is an 1985/6 90. If I was doing a thesis on why so many Defenders get stolen the willingness of owners to ignore the facts and pretend / cover up the reality would...
