Had a chain wrench but it didnt fit, managed to get a strap wrench......job done. Thats my first bit of home mechanics in a lot of years....chuffed.

Im in the middle of servicing my 90 td5 (06) Do I need to fill the fuel filter with diesel prior to fitting? Haynes manual makes no mention of this.

Doing my service tomorrow, got a kit which is coopers filters and an allmakes fuel filter - in the description of the fuel filter it says "no sensor supplied, existing water sensor to be re-used" Can someone explain in very simple english.....

What mpg are u gettin? Ive a 2006 90 with a hannibal rack and safari snorkel and gettin on average 27mpg. Im looking at removing the EGR and maybe decat the exhaust in the first instance..........not sure what the best mpg is for a TD5 with all the tweaks
Ive recently fitted one to my TD5, it also states 16mm holes, however a good piece of advice I got was to use a step drill (conical shaped drill bit that steps from ...mm to ...mm, they come in different sizes) I started off with 12mm holes and ended up going to 14mm to get the position bang on.
My 90 TD5 is now due a service and rather than splashing out 200 squid (give or take) Im thinking of just doing it myself and havin more money for deisel!!!

Havin the same problem with my TD5,,,,,,radiator muff arrived today so will fit it tomorrow, Santa doesnt deliver the haynes manual until Saturday so could someone explain in an idiots guide how to disconnect my viscous fan:)
Went out to the TD5 this morning and pressed the button to open the doors and the central locking started operating that fast....open/close/open/close/open/close/open/close.............that I thought it was some LR gimmick where your truck plays a tune on the central locking, its happened before...
