    Polishing

Seems a lot of folk on here don't wash their Landys. Fair enough. That's up to you. I enjoy getting my vehicles up to the eyes in mud. But don't enjoy chassis rot so like to clean them properly afterwards. On this Landy the paint is pretty good so gave it a polish. I've had hand painted ones...

    Polishing

It'll get muddy... My daily motor so need a bit of time to make sure it's reliable. Or as reliable as it can be! You don't buy a Defender unless you intend to play in the mud... Or tow heavy things.

    Polishing

Had my Landrover 2 weeks now. Done dozens of smaller jobs, lots more to do. Decided to give it a quick polish with my machine polisher. Took about 2 1/2 hours with tea breaks. Very happy with the result :)

    auf_wiedersehen_pet's build thread.

Fantastic thread! Following with interest :) I hate the colour so much that I love it. But would never have the balls to do it myself lol. Excellent mods, very well executed. Hats off to you. Guessing you teach a practical, rather than a purely academic subject?... Looking forward to many...

    Snorkel question

Don't know if there are any that don't need drilling. If I were avoiding drilling I'd just silkaflex the bracket to the windscreen upright. Would think it would work...not tried it....yet.

    Adrian Flux RiP OFF

Similar experiences here! Just about to get my 'new' Landrover a 110 CSW P reg. Current insurance company said oh it's a TD5... To which I replied no its not! It must be as our info comes from DVLA...They also said it must be registered incorrectly.... (It's not). Long story short, went with...

    New owner, simple question!

For use in the UK Defenders tend to be over cooled. They have to cope with low range in deep sand in red hot temps in deserts so pottering along a Tarmac road in 15c heat is nothing :) Stick an electric one on unless you do the deserts or very heavy towing etc

    Buying...saving

Ended up with a 300tdi. Allisport intercooler gives it that bit extra go! I do like the idea of no electronics. Landrover were never good with electric plugs let alone delicate voltages etc required to run a modern engine. I may still carry my laptop case in the back... Except I will have a...

    Got it!

.....well, getting it :) Pick it up at the end of the month. 110 CSW 300tdi 1996. Solid where it needs to be and drives really well. Interior needs a little work to be called tidy but I already love it. More details once I get it :)

    series 3 spare tyre mounting

Ha ha Well done. I like them on the bonnet. But also on a swing away wheel carrier. Seeing forward is over rated in my opinion. I always managed on my 11A. Never hit anyone or anything.....I think :~

plug n play td chip any good ?

Wouldn't be my first choice. A proper map is the best way to go. Generally plug in boxes just increase the injector pulse. Ie. add more fuel. They work but they are crude.... In my opinion :)

    Hi to all!!!

Hello That decision depends on what you want to use it for and what you expect from it. Plenty to read on here though :)

Yeah I'm pretty sure that we'll be going for a TD5 so long as funds allow. Seen some nice BIG intercooler upgrades with a remap :) Got to get the Landy first though ha ha
