I'm going to be fitting some lift-up handle wind up window type, second row doors on my 1990 110 station wagon, does anyone have the part numbers for the striker plate arangement to replace the push button type. :unsure:

the awning rail can be fixed with self tappers so it shouldn't be too awful.

you can buy awning channel from caravan shops so that you can slide an awning into it (not done it myself but read about it)

yes deffo leave everthing as it is until you've done some off roading then yhou'll know if you want to do the conversion, you'll find out what you can do with diff lock(and what you can do without it, and it might surprise you) but if you want to get into mud you must have some manly tyres...

if it's not the hydrolics then it is most probably the clutch fork has been punched through by the pivot. very common (thanks a bunch Land Rover) but a gearbox out job (or engine out, whichever rocks your boat) I'm afraid

can anyone talk me through fitting the rear crankshaft oil seal (with pics if poss.) I've done a search and I've looked on other forums and, unless I am a bit thick, I can't for the life of me work out how to do it. do you fit it in the clutch housing first? and where does the plastic sleeve...

it's deffo the leak-off pipes, they loosen, I took to keping a spanner on the dash (can't remember the size but it aint metric) a quick nip-up and alls well.

I'v got one that someone has made, it;s a land rover folding step, welded to a length of box section and a piece of tube is welded onto one end and a bracket on the other end. The tube part slides in to the tubular outrigger and the bracket fits to your bulkhead bolt. it's a bit like a rock...

if you are replacing the shocks and springs, you might as well buy some turrets as well (not too expensive on e-bay) because the top nuts will be well corroded and the turrets might be as well (the turret ring nuts might shear off too but with a bit of patience and lots of plus gas you should...

weeman, if you thought you were buying a disco engine but it turned out to be a defender engine, then consider yourself very lucky indeed. the defender 200Tdi is a direct replacement fit for a TD but with a disco one the turbo is lower down meaning you have to do some mods,ie. you have to buy or...

sorry to burst your blister but this is not rust (well not in the steel rust way) this is a corrosion on the aluminium caused by being in contact with a dissimilar metal (in this case steel) there's not a lot you can do about it and every land rover from a series 1 to a defender puma will show...

adymanchester, where abouts do you live? as ormondstreet was the name of the steet I used to live, in the Hulme area of manchester, many years ago (long since demolished)

I'm afraid you may be wasting your time on here, as most of us here are struggling to prevent our land rovers disolving into dust and the price of a new one may as well be £23 million, but good luck in your search.
