Hi folks, im looking into some side steps for my defender 90 instead of rock/tree sliders. Purely due to the fact i dont use my 90 for serious offroad and therefor beleive side steps would be adequate. But, if possible i would still like to maintain a decent amount of ground clearance by having the side steps as close to the sills as possible. Is there a specific model of side steps that allow for this, or is it as matter of adjusting the bracketry on the the side steps?

Im after some exactly like this and in that position:
1997 LAND ROVER 90 DEFENDER SW TDI GREEN on eBay (end time 12-Jan-11 01:28:45 GMT)

I'v got one that someone has made, it;s a land rover folding step, welded to a length of box section and a piece of tube is welded onto one end and a bracket on the other end.
The tube part slides in to the tubular outrigger and the bracket fits to your bulkhead bolt.
it's a bit like a rock slider with a folding step attached to it.
I only have the passenger side but do have the drivers side folding step, you could use the passenger side as a model to make the other side.
£40. plus postage if your interested.

Dammit - I want to swap from side-steps to sliders! Unfortunately I've already removed the side-steps and binned them :(

If you're after a new home for your sliders, let me know :)

I've got the rear one off a 110, however, the plate under the rubber is badly rusted and needs replacing. That said, the frame is good and it has a new rubber fitted.

Free to a good home - either collect in person or pay the postage.
