    V8 to 300tdi

Cheaper and simpler to convert to lpg while keeping the benefits of the V8

    V8 to 300tdi

Firstly... Slap yourself for even suggesting something so daft :P Secondly, you need different mounts, a 300tdi gearbox and different propshafts. You will also need a new radiator and intercooler. The V8 is a better engine in just about every way. Stick with it.

Have you checked that the belt isn't slipping? Try tightening it further.

Im about to give up on this thing

Diagnostics are not a catch all... just another tool in your arsenal. Modern car's require a multi pronged approach of both technological analysis, physical examination and good old experience. Remove any one of these things and your going to make life harder. Experience is unfortunately the...

Im about to give up on this thing

Injectors sucking air? White smoke coming out the exhaust? Get a proper land rover diagnostic computer on it... they pic up on all sorts of things cheap code readers miss such as failing sensors on the engine etc. Get a Hawkeye if you want to do it all yourself... they are worth their weight...

    110 LPG Conversion vs. DPF

The Defender has a large engine bay... Even commercial truck engines such as Cummins will fit without issue... so space is not a problem. Budget and compliance seem to be the biggest problems you have. The reason people feel strongly about it comes down to an overreach of the state and...

    110 LPG Conversion vs. DPF

Honestly I would leave... it sounds like a hellhole Otherwise, I would be fitting a modern V8 such as as one of the Chevrolet LS engines and running it on LPG.

    New springs n shockers

I've fitted NRC4306 to the front and NRC6388 to my 110 along with spring isolators and discovery 2 rubber mounts. Rides like a range rover now... almost. An ARB is recommended for this setup.

Are the Serial Numbers on the transmission/engine the VIN?

Best of luck... I'm planning on shipping my 1983 110 over at some point so your experience will be very interesting to me :)

Are the Serial Numbers on the transmission/engine the VIN?

engine does not have to be original... but it DOES have to be the same type as fitted originally.

Defender Bulkhead into Land Rover 90 - How much Alteration?

They are almost exactly the same. The only major differences are between engine/gearbox tunnel configurations, but they all can be made to fit each other with a little bit of fettling. You could bolt a even bolt a 2016 puma bulkhead into a 1983 110 or 90 if you really wanted to.
