Delphi from Island 4x4. No leaks and replaced anyway....

Minor starting issue - glow plugs?

Right, replaced all 6 glow plugs and it didn't make any difference. Still stuggles to start on first light of glow plugs, but is fine on the second. What next? I figure I'll check the in tank pump as that comes on with the glow plug light. But anything else? How do I check the plug relay? I...

Replaced oil cooler and pipe, but got new leak!

I've loosened both the clamp and the support and gave it all a good wiggle and tightened it back up. I'll borrow a ramp and take a look from underneath with a torch and make sure... tnx Nik

Replaced oil cooler and pipe, but got new leak!

Replaced the oil cooler pipes and oil cooler (as I heard the threads would strip - they didn't, so I have a used oil cooler up for grabs now). Anyway, one of the new pipes (the right hand one as it fits in to the engine) is leaking where it pushes in. The O ring didn't fall off. So is it common...

Door locks, boot lock, power problem

Whilst I have fixed my problem of cycling door locks whilst driving - which was down to a sticky boot lock. I have an occasional problem where the boot won't open at all. When it happens, I've also noticed the the drivers door doesn't activate the interior light. If I slam the drivers door shut...

    RF Receiver Help......

If it sometimes won't unlock and if it sometimes locks then unlocks AND if they sometimes operate on their own whilst driving, take the boot lock apart and clean it. Known fault that causes the above symptoms. You can test it easily enough by pressing and holding the boot button next time it...

Alarm fault msg - what else to check?

You can have them both FOC. I couldn't put them on ebay as I can't say for sure if they work. All I know is the one I currently have fitted still gave me the fault warning until several lock/unlock cycles - then it cleared. So one of these might be ok. Warrington or Billinge easiest for you? EAS ride heights

Billinge actually. But close enough! I can help, but with a wife, 2 kids, 2 horses and a boat, I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing this weekend but it'll be safe to assume I'll be out for most of it! :)

On my radio, on my radio, on my radio...

Both my windows have antenna strips but the one with the rf receiver has the smaller L shaped one in addition that the other doesn't have. Both my windows have rf amps and both have coax attached (not traced it any further than that). 2002 model with Alpine head unit if it matters... Nik

On my radio, on my radio, on my radio...

I wouldn't want to disagree with you (especially as I haven't looked at rave or traced the cabling) but it would be silly of Landrover to include 2 antennas, the wiring and a head unit called a "Diversity" system if it wasn't implementing Diversity. It's called Diversity because it is named...

On my radio, on my radio, on my radio...

There are 2 sets of antennas, one on each rear side window. Each window has several elements to the printed antenna. One for FM, one for MW/LW etc. The printed wires connect to an antenna amplifier at the window which is fed by a positive supply from the radio along with a switching signal to...

Minor starting issue - glow plugs?

Even though it's warm weather at last, the car is needing 2 goes on the glow plugs to start perfectly. If I only allow one cycle of the glow plug light, it will start, but it will splutter in to life rather than firing in to life. Is that a symptom of failing glow plugs? What's the best to get...

    Locking woes

Ah, I didn't say it did! :) But... when mine played up, the car was completely locked and the keyfob didn't work at all. Pressing and *holding* the tailgate, cycled the lock until it eventually fired them all in to life and then the keyfob worked again. I was locked out for 2 days the first...

    Locking woes

There's a known problem that several people have had with the tailgate button. Causes the locks to operated randomly and to cause lockouts. Press and hold it until it cycles and eventually opens then take it out and clean it.

    Refurb of a spare compressor

The man's a genius. It was the o-ring/reed valve combo. Replaced the o-ring with a different one. The old one sat flush, if not low. The new new one sits a fraction high - you can just feel it if you run your finger over it. Put it all back together and great suction! Thanks! Nik

    Refurb of a spare compressor

When I said exhaust, I meant of the compressor, where the violet(?) pipe would attach. I'm playing with it on the bench as its a spare. The paper seal was slightly damaged around one of the three screw holes. A bit missing. So I've put some gasket sealent on it and just waiting for it to dry...

    boot stuck

Yep, maybe... But anyway, if anyone else is doing work on their tailgate button, leave the carpeted trim piece off until you are 100% sure it works! :)

    Refurb of a spare compressor

Got a spare EAS set off ebay and just refurbed the compressor this morning. However, on testing it, there isn't much suction still. I gave it new seals and liner and o-rings. The exhaust seems ok. I can put my finger over the hole, but with some effort. That would lead me to think a seal's...

    boot stuck

Open the spare wheel well to give you some space. It will open if you force it. Reach down with a 1p coin and force your hand between the tailgate carpet and the plastic hinge cover and with the coin, undo the 3 plastic trib screws. Once they are undone, pull the trim off. It will come off if...
