Help....Is there anyone out there that can lend me an RF receiver new or old type.....I am still having serious problems with locking/unlocking my car, engine being disabled etc....The EKA code works a treat but is a real pain in the Ar$e......

I am quite happy to buy a new RF Receiver but I am not convinced that it is the root cause of the problem as my Faultmate states that it is fine.....and I don't want to fork out £150-£200 for nothing...

Iwould just like to borrow one for a few minutes to see if I can plug it in and resync evertyhing..if it works brilliant, if it doesn't well further investigation and a lot of money I suppose...

I work in Burton upon trent and live in Coventry, so anywhere in the vicinity of either or en -route....or if someone is willing to post, I will happily refund the postage etc......

PM me if anyone can help.

Thanks

Chris

If it sometimes won't unlock and if it sometimes locks then unlocks AND if they sometimes operate on their own whilst driving, take the boot lock apart and clean it. Known fault that causes the above symptoms. You can test it easily enough by pressing and holding the boot button next time it won't unlock and eventually it should fire in to life unless its completely broken.

Try it out in the countryside where there should be a lot less signals to disturb, if it works out there, it's the receiver.
If you don't have the new one with the green dot change it anyway as the old one, with probably blue dot, will fail at some point.

Check your PM, I have a known good one you can try.

Is there a way to test them without any special kit? Anyway it can be done by multimeter?

You might have another problem there other than the RF receiver.

Did everything work ok, then one day you got locked out, you used your EKA code & your fobs haven't worked since?

Am I right in thinking this is what happened?

Basically yes.... My alternator packed up and flattened the battery, so set the alarms, lights off etc, I couldnt use the key fobs to switch it all off, so used the key to get in...I ended up disconecting the battery and had to use the EKA code to get in and start it ever since....

Whats your thoughts?

I have used my Faultmate and it says it is recieving a valid signal from the RF unit I have also borrowed a known working one, but to no avail... I have tried every known method ( well at least the ones posted on here) to re-sync the key, but no......
