    Lazy gearbox.

If you take it to a garage that has a transmission flushing machine, they will hook into the cooler pipe and pump new fluid in at the same rate the dirty old fluid pumps out with the engine running and they keep the engine running till the fluid coming out of the trans cooler pipe is clean that...

    Auto trans fault

I just checked up on the auction and it is apparently out of a 1996 4.7. I will go and have a looksee and make a decision when i get there. If i have to buy it and it's no use to me then i will just flick it on.

    Auto trans fault

The box is out of a V8 petrol so the valve block, i assume, will have differences, though i am hoping the solenoids are the same. I think i would be capable of carefully swapping over the solenoids, if the need arises, but if it does become too technical then i will take it to the local auto...

    Metalic rattle

I would probably take off my propshaft again and double check that the joints are nice and free and not notchy. Its not difficult to dislodge a needle roller when fitting a u/joint and it cause damage to the joint when driven.

    eas suspension

Thanks guys. i guess i will give it a miss then. There is another auction for just the control box from a 98 that i will get instead, but it would have been handy to get a compressor as well. Cheers Spadgr

    eas suspension

Gidday, I am looking at buying an eas control box and compressor 2nd hand from our native auction web site. the eas parts are from a 1990 RR and mine is a 98 RR. Will the parts be interchangeable? or did they change or supersede or something like that. cheers

    Auto trans fault

Thanks for the email with the wiring diagram and the solenoid function. I will print them off and do some electrical testing tomorrow. My guess is it's the torque converter lock up solenoid thats playing up (i hope). I picked up a 2nd hand auto trans for $50 (25 quid) off of our native ebay...

    Auto trans fault

I checked the trans oil, engine running in park after shifting slowly through gears, and if anything it is slightly overfull. Do i have to pull off the sump to check the solenoid resistances? I will pm my email for the resistance charts. Cheers

    Auto trans fault

Gidday, Back again with more P38 problems. I have had an ongoing problem with my automatic trans over the past few years (ever since i owned the beast), but it has been intermittent and not too much of a hassle. Over the last few weeks, the problem has become more apparent and i want it...

    Blackbox help

Gidday, As i am back on the forum in search of advice again, i thought it may be a good idea to update this post. Ifinally decided to follow Datateks advice and i checked the wiring to both right hand ride height sensors. I crawled under my sitting on the bumpstops rangy, through the 10...

    Door open message

Gidday, back again for more help with my rangy. For the last couple of months, i have been getting the occasional "R/H DOOR NOT CLOSED" (or something along those lines) message on the dash. If i slam the door a couple of times, the message disappears and all is OK. The message is now...

    P38 Diesel problems

Change your gearbox oil and make sure you put the correct oil in. I have done this on plenty of cars and its made a difference to stiff gear changes, Although, it sound like a worn synchro if it only happens in 3rd gear. Either way, an oil change won't do any harm.

    Blackbox help

Gidday again, Had a bit more of a play, and made some slight progress. I found the C117 eas plug, unplugged it and plugged it back in. Started up up the rsw program and had another crack. Same result, but i did notice that when i unlock the EAS the rx buffer does stop momentarily and then...

Here i am again, same problem, haven't driven the rangy for weeks now and the government are making plenty out of all the fuel my 110 uses, so i am back into it with a vengeance. 2.5 DSE - Cracked head without overheating ?

I have a 2.5 dse that had an intermittent overheating problem when under high load (long steep hills or towing a trailer up a hill), it didn't overheat all the time, only occasionally and it was the viscous coupling. To check the viscous coupling, run the vehicle till its hot, stop the engine...

Question - not for the feint-hearted

It sounds like the radiator to me. When idling without the fan the radiator gets hot all over, thats because aluminium is a good transmitter of heat. With the fan on the radiator is cold all over except the top tank where the water is going in. Thats because the radiator is blocked therefore...

    Blackbox help

Yup, done a continuity test on the leads, and all appears to be ok, still no joy. Found a couple of corroded terminals on the OBD11 plug itself, so i replaced them, and i am still going to work in the 110. Time to investigate the Black box forum i think.
