Where would i be able to get hold of some front and rear spring cups (seats) for a 1988 range rover classic ? :D

Yes glad you said that, today i was sat in it trying to work out what the feck was happening, turned the headlights on and hey presto it would idle in gear without cutting out, turned on the heater blower and the idle got better !! :eek: I recon it has something to do with me dropping the...

Thought i would try my luck in here :D Having managed to sort the previous problem it has now lead to another issue. . . . If i start it up it will idle fine and rev up fine, if i stick it into gear (autobox) the idle drops but then it will not rev at all, if you take it out of gear it stays...

I finally managed to get the Range rover running properly, turns out for the month that i have been wasting by setting the timing then re-setting it numerous times, it turned out to be a wire on the coil being conected to the wrong point :rolleyes::o:o:doh:

Well a small update, today i decided to change the coil, after connecting the replacement up it would start and run but only if i held the key it the start position :confused: I took a look at the wiring and had a thought, i swapped one wire from the -ive to the +ive it fired up straight away...

Well it didnt fit in the end, the amplifier wouldnt alloy the distributor to sit in its place due to fouling on the P/steering pump :( not to concerned as it was a freebie from the scrappy :D:rolleyes:

I have managed to get hold of a distributor from a new range rover (still a classic) Only thing is on the side of it looks to have what looks like and ignition amplifier it still has the vacumm advance, would this be ok to replace the one i have which doesnt have anything apart from the vacumm...

I have a coolant leak on my 1988 range rover classic (obviously a 3.5 V8i :D) now its coming from what looks like a very rusty core plug under the engine mount ? Are they difficult to change ? Will i have to take the engine out again :(

I dont believe in this phenomenon however i do have atheory of my own, if it starts to rain whilst you are working on your Landrover/other vehicle. then its usually a good sign that things are going well, if it doesnt rain your screwed :D:D;)

PLugs were cleaned before re-fitting and the leads are new, i ran it again yesterday and it was running lovely, i even managed to drive it around the block a few times, then as the engine warmed up more it ran rougher and rougher until it eventually cut out :(

Ok ive been out and im pretty sure the timing is out, however you try and fix one thing something else crops up, i took the top plenum off to give the mating surfaces a clean as i dont remember doing it when i put it all back together, now its all back together when i try and rev it it just cuts...

Thats the only thing I bodged ;) I fitted a new inlet gasket after deciding the original was knackered, the previous owner however has rigged up the fuel pump to s switch (apparantley it wasnt working off the ignition) the wires which run to the distributor itself have been fiddled with so...
