    auf_wiedersehen_pet's build thread.

Looking really good, will be interested to see the finish once it is wet flatted and polished. Can you post up some close up shots when you have got to that stage. Are you still following the two roller technique? Any additional tips to get a good finish? Liking the green too:D

    Disco rebuild project

Time for a bit of an update as I haven’t posted any progress pics recently , I have been getting bits done as and when I have time and the weather and my health allows. Having refurbished the calipers I refitted them along with new extended braided flexi’s and new copper on the fronts...

    What is this? Filter?

That is your inline fuel filter. If you want to change it THIS is the replacement part. I did mine yesterday There are no wires connected to it

brake hoses on lifted disco 1

The rear axle only has one flexible hose mounted in the center of the axle. Therefore even with the +5 shocks at either end of the axle it all pivots around the the A frame ball joint so your existing extended hose on the rear should be fine. If you put +5 shocks on the front you may need...

Some pics of my Disco :D

I have a Globalsat sirf III too but mine is the compact flash version like THIS which plugs direct into my old tablet pc using the pcmcia slot. The beauty of this set up is that the compact flash card has a external MMCX antenna connector to allow you to plug a cheap GPS antenna like THIS into...

    Steering guard D1 auto

Can't see why. The steering guard mounts to the chassis?? There are issues when looking at winch bumpers with air con and autos due to the space (or lack of) behind the grill but never heard of it with steering guard:confused:

    1995 Discovery 3.9 V9 engine ticking noise

I use Halfords 20w-50 classic oil as the semi synthetic stuff is a bit too thin and has too much detergent for the old v8 lumps. I made my noisy cam followers even worse

    Braided hose mix up?

Cheers for the input fellas. I have no intention of bodging it, I totally agree that brakes are not the place for a bodge.. I will be replacing the short rigid pipes from the flexi to the caliper anyway but it was this joint I was thinking about using the double female fitting on As you can...

    Braided hose mix up?

So I picked up a bargain set of +2 braided hoses at Newbury yesterday. I got the 5 hose set as I knew the front calipers on my non ABS 93 disco had two hoses each and the fifth is the single rear hose. Once I got home I found that there is another version of the 5 hose set up that has flexi...

2" Suspension Lift - Cost to fit in a garage

Plus gas for penetrating fluid and Halfords pro for the ratchet spanners THESE ones are excellent. If you don't have a good set of sockets already then THIS kit will do everything you need and includes the spanners too.

    Project lizzie rebuild thread

Completely removing the inner wing is much better than trying to repair it. Good on ya. Are you making up the panels yourself or getting replacements from YRM? The wing extension top rail (the bit the wing bolts to) is still available from LR main dealer as a genuine part for about £18-£20 each

Mark have you not been servicing your loom smoke in accordance with LR service intervals then?? Its a bit like oil leaks......when your land rover stops leaking oil it needs topping up!!
