    Clutch Change

You don't need to change it but you will loose some oil when you disconnect the oil cooler. Its up to you which way you go it. I just think its much faster and easier pulling the box. If your only doing the clutch you won't even have to fully remove it. If you use an engjne crane through the...

    Starting a stored TDi?

If its sat for that long I would be inclined to change the timing belt. Don't want it snapping the first time you start it. Plus its so much easier to change with the engine out the car. Other than that what was said above a bit of oil in each bore before cranking. Don't run it too long without...

    Clutch Change

Iv done quite a few clutches now and also gearbox and engine changes. I would say its easier dropping the gearbox out. Can do it in around 3 hours now with he car on the floor (no ramp) If you go down the route of removing the engine its definitely a longer job and you will also need to change...

Gopro video camera mounted under rear bumper

Haha nope. It also makes it confusing when I was trying to work out where I was on the tracks seeing every turn is the wrong way too!

Gopro video camera mounted under rear bumper

Its an old disused electrical connector. It was tied up but must have come loose. Haha I was wondering if anyone would notice. Because the gopro was upside down for filming when editing I only flipped the image vertically not realising I would need to flip it sideways. I thought it would...

Gopro video camera mounted under rear bumper

Nothing needing welded at the back. Iv just finished a lot of welding inclufing: angled rear of chassis 2" higher allowing more ground clearance, welded on 2-150x700x6mm plates from the crossmember above the rear axle to the rear of the chassis giving me more strength for the rear bumper. Also...

Gopro video camera mounted under rear bumper

It was my mates RRC bobtail. Ye I think its because its wide angled it makes everything look a bit out if perspective. It was on a Gopro hero 3 black edition.

Gopro video camera mounted under rear bumper

Was out off roading today and decided I'd fix my gopro under the car to see all what goes on. I had to go round pretty tame tracks to save damaging the camera and still managed to knock it going through a burn but it still looks pretty cool. disco 1 gopro under car - YouTube Cheers mark

    Diff problems

Yes same idea so should come off with a sharp tap tho one of mine wouldn't come apart so I had to replace the shaft and cv.

    Diff problems

Iv had a few broken cvs. Trying to work it out was tricky because when I had the wheel off and tried to turn the hub it felt solid but with the wheel on it gave enough leverage for it to jump. If you try putting the car in gear and jack up 1 wheel at a time then try spinning the wheel. It might...

    Transmission vibration, help please.

Could be wheel balancing. I had this problem on an old range rover. Fine at low speeds but had a massive vibration above 60mph it was because it had no spigot rings.

300TDI Compression Test Results - Worn Piston Rings???

Also if you get a bigger puff of blue smoke in the mornings it can be because oil seeps through the seals overnight

300TDI Compression Test Results - Worn Piston Rings???

It could be valve stem oil seals. I'd be extremely doubtful of piston rings being worn at that mileage. Also was it a genuine/good quality or cheap head gasket as it could be a breech from an oil gallery to one if the cylinders. Mark
