Took Britpart water pump off my 200tdi cause I'm changing the cambelt.

I know it has done 20k since it was fitted so shall I put it back or buy a new one?:)

i changed my britpart waterpump yesterday as it was leaking from the pulley spindle, it had only been fitted in August and lasted around a 1000 mile, they have offered me an exchange, but dont think i want another one

This one was fitted in March 2010 so they aren't all bad, its been stood for a while though so might be wise to swap it in case the seal has perrished:)

My britpart pump lasted a few hours! Resulting in a cooked head gasket.

Still waiting on a claim payout adter 10 months from paddock spares

If it was me I would buy a good quality pump and replace it.

A quality one isn't that much money so why not just order one, fit it and forget it?

I think older S**tPart stuff was probably better than the **** they sell nowadays, but you might as well do it while it's all apart.

I'm on my 3rd Britpart water pump in 18 months, the current one only lasting 2 months! At least I'm getting quite adept at changing them!!! Think the main problem is the tiny seal inside that obviously is not up to handling hot water, it splits - letting water into the bearing - and bearing failure quickly ensues.

Can anyone recommend a better make???

You've been on here long enough to know the do's and donts of britpart.

Id say you are the exception to the rule though, mine did 3 months then self dectructed.
