    DSE in Distress!

Oopops yes you have, turning engine backwards always does this,it usually breaks a plastic guide, thus losing the pump timing, and no matter what you do, even loosening pump securing bolts and turning pump,it will run ok till the next time you switch it off, then it will be the same,rough...

if its a standard 4 hole tank then when they replaced the line(cant think why as usually they are copper covered plastic, they did not set the correct angle,in other words the tank needs turning, its similar to a fuel tank sender, if you held a petrol tank at an angle the sender would think the...

    Diesel economy

agreed, but if you read my post i stated that the chip map numbers was exactly the same up to 2000rpm, only there after did the numbers start to differentiate, so at 2k and under there is no more fuel being shoved in!

Quick tips for changing head gasket

cant really cock it up as the chain has coloured links on it, but personally i would change the chain and guides as well, bound to be wear in them, and then the engine is good for at least another hundred thou, tip, buy the guides etc from bmw much cheaper than landrover!!

    Diesel economy

agreed to an extent, however if the boost is up a little as well then you use a smaller amount of throttle for the same power as standard, then you get your fuel saving, whenever we chip any motor the owner always uses more fuel to start with, then when fed up with smoking tyres and gp traffic...

    Diesel economy

lol sorry guys should have explained a little better, having owned 4 Omega diesels with the m51 engine i knew that the earlier ones,94 to mid 97 had socketed chips, later ones you have to solder socket in, so assumed the rangie would be the same!! it was!on the omega 170bhp is reasonably easy...
