    No willing mechanics!

P.s all of those excuses are why a lot of us now fix our own vehicles. Fire away with questions, the forum may help you to fix your Landy for you!

    No willing mechanics!

Glencoyne would be your best bet in Norfolk. Expect them to be busy though.

    What temp gauge everyone using?

Sounds more like an earth issue than a problem with the gauge.

Durite temp. gauge in Disco 200tdi

Thanks for the offer chap! I ordered a M16x1 split die from fleaBay before I saw this. Only £8, so I’ll see what turns up. If I get stuck and give up I’ll be in contact! Thanks again.

Durite temp. gauge in Disco 200tdi

@zeaphod I should have just listened to you in the first place! I bought the metric Durite adaptors, but I have exactly the same problem as you did to begin with - original thread is fine, adaptor is coarse. Did you end up ever converting any of the adaptors to fine thread? I’m going to buy a...

    keeps blowin

The indicators and gauges share the same fuse, the horn uses a separate fuse which also protects the interior light. What action makes the horn fuse blow?

    Original colour identification

It will either be LRC392 Shire Blue, or LRC424 Arles Blue. It’s difficult to tell from a photo which it actually is! If you know when yours was built (from the VIN) then that may aid you, as Arles was after August ‘89

Have a look at the link I posted, it appears that MTF isn’t always a good swap.

Durite temp. gauge in Disco 200tdi

Stupid question, how does an adapter work if both sizes are M16? Surely any adapter would decrease the diameter and the M16 sender thread wouldn’t fit?

    keeps blowin

The indicators often do it as the indicator wiring often gets damaged under the NS inner wing. Check the wiring between bulkhead and indicator for any breaks etc.

Durite temp. gauge in Disco 200tdi

I think the Disco 200 sender is different to the Defender sender and the Disco had two different threads at various points. I might be wrong about that. I’ve ordered a Durite gauge from my local factors, so I’ll just see what happens! Hopefully they can supply an adaptor if necessary.

    HGF - yay!

Well, the blow-by on the injector certainly did a good job of freeing it off! Taken out, seat cleaned up and new washer installed. Purrs like a kitten again. I’ve ordered a seat cleaning kit and some ceramic grease, so I may take them out and give them a bit of love later in the week.

What have you done on your 90/110/130 today?

And a big tub of copper grease!

What have you done on your 90/110/130 today?

Need to get yourself some damaged nut/bolt extractors. Irwin are supposed to be good, I’ve got a Screwfix Erbauer set and they’ve got me out of plenty of rounded bolt situations.

Thanks for that Lynall. Is there any risk of damage if I drive her about for a bit whilst I wait for a tool to arrive? I’ll squirt some penetrating lube around it today and loosen the clamp nut a smidge. I tried for over an hour getting it out the other day whilst doing the gasket, proper bastid...

    HGF - yay!

Yes, runs lovely. Temperature seems to have returned to normal after I took the thermostat out for a second test, must have released the airlock. I’ve ordered a Durite gauge for future reassurance. Now just the blow-by on the stuck injector. Maybe the gas and oil being forced past the injector...

    HGF - yay!

Well, she was running so smoothly for the past two days, better than ever in fact. Then… chuff chuff chuff chuff, aaarrghhh ffs!!! ‘Fortunately’, it’s not the head gasket again, that pesky stuck injector 4 is now blowing gas! I can’t be ar*ed trying to fix it, I’m getting a mobile mechanic out...
