Disconnect wire from fuel gauge then wire a 12v bulb across where the fuse should be. If bulb lights up you have a short to earth in your wiring loom and you need to run in a replacement wire. If not, it looks like a problem with the gauge.

theres some other on that fuse too ! thats what i was hinting at for a clue !
I think the other gauges are also on that fuse, possibly the indicators too. What triggers the fuse to blow? Is it when ignition is on, or is there something else that does it? I.e does it blow as soon as you turn the key?

sorry got a bit lost for a week or three ! no its not consistent or instant fuel gauge goes often indicators occasionally possibly the livestock trailer for those but the fuel gauge i wondered if it was with something common ie panel light ! thanks mick

The indicators often do it as the indicator wiring often gets damaged under the NS inner wing. Check the wiring between bulkhead and indicator for any breaks etc.

horn fuse keeps blowing too ! the indicators i can understand but not the fuel sender unless its sharing ! thanks blue dog

The indicators and gauges share the same fuse, the horn uses a separate fuse which also protects the interior light. What action makes the horn fuse blow?

ide say the horn but it doesunt , not at least always or obviously ! ill look into the interior light because i cut it out a few years ago to rag top & probably didunt deal with it ! thaks for the help its mutch appreciated blue dog . reg mick
