Only just seen your reply, I managed to fix all of my other gauge issues really easily. I may have been a silly boy when I swapped the engine and forgot to reattach an earth on a ring terminal on the bulkhead near the fuel filter. Still having trouble with the temp readings though.

Horn switch and flasher don't work, headlights dip and main beam are all okay as are indicators. I've whipped the wheel off and taken out the clamp screw but can't get the stupid torx bolts out. I've checked the brown live wire and that's all okay.

How did you fix your flasher?! Spent ages looking at the switch and all contacts seem good, it's getting good feed to it. Destroyed one of the green filters in the temp gauge so now the light is pink! :D played with the headlamp wiring so now dip stays on with main, would like to say it made...

When I fitted my 200tdi I used a bearmach cable, and have this same issue, stiff and jerky, I've tried silicon spray and it sort of helps.

Replaced the gear box, bit gutting as the original box was so smooth, zero play in any bearings. Output shaft looked like new but reverse had decided to vacate so needs must. What a bugger of a job, drove it home tonight and all seems well, just need to bolt the floor pans in tomorrow and check...
