I think prices of low mileage ones have increased, possibly because it's the last practical Discovery to be able to afford to run. D3 and 4 may be great cars but they are far too expensive and complicated to maintain for many of us..................

Dont know much about it but surely the EGR is simply reporting an acceptable resistance to the ECU? So just measure the resistance, pop down to Maplins and get a resistor of the right value and connect it to the wires?????? no need for the EGR at all...............

Ours is tetchie on changing gear due to old syncro, try changing gear slowly and deliberately and let the lever find its way into gear rather than just changing gear like a new modern car! Imagine you are driving a lorry and you wont go far wrong!!!!

BUT please wear eye protection and gloves, long sleeves etc this stuff normally is Caustic soda which is effective for it's purpose but not nice stuff!!!!! Beware of the fumes as well.......

Thats 24 mpg which isnt far out (especially if its an auto which you havnt stated) If the owner is new to a Discovery and trying to drive it like a car that could also be a major contributor.

ours forgets the keys signal and wont unlock remotely if left for 24 hours or so. Can unlock the drivers door and the remote then works to disable the alarm.
