Had a test drive of the Evoque today

May be sacrilege to some, but I had a test drive of the Evoque today, and have to say I rather like it. Won't be changing my P38, but as a car for the other half, it's currently leading the field out of the ones we were considering. Nice smooth ride, and didn't feel like it was short on...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Indeed, I have a new oil cooler which I bought along with the new pipes, as seen a lot of threads on here saying the same thing :)

    sudden loss of brakes

Do you occasionally hear a clicking noise when braking, or taking your foot off the brake?

:D schoolboy error... always remove the fill plug before the drain plug!

What did you do with your Range Rover today

They need changed anyway as ****ing ATF on the floor now. Parked up in my garage for a couple of weekends at least anyway, as had already decided it was time to replace my oil cooler pipes before I started prodding away at the corrosion on the power steering. Nice bit of old-school Landy...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

I unboxed the new power steering pipes, and had a good stare and a think. Job for the weekend, methinks. Mostly I was thinking "These pipes don't look right", but I'll keep an open mind until I get the old ones off.

Engine Mounts - Best place to jack engine up from?

Where are you based? Someone local might offer to lend you an engine crane

    What Plasma Cutter?

Last year I took the advice on this thread: http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f16/plasma-cutters-254153.html ...and instead of shelling out on a Hyperthem, saved myself some cash and went with one of the generic Chinese CUT40 machines off email for around £250 It's done me well over the past...

    cleaning injectors

I've heard of people using jam jars of acetone with the lids on, and sticking that in the ultrasonic bath, which sounds like it would work. Personally I'd be inclined to just soak them in the acetone overnight, then give a blast in the ultrasonic cleaner with some standard degreasing compound.

    cleaning injectors

If you decide to use acetone in your ultrasonic cleaner, can you please video it for youtube entertainment? Oh, and you'll probably want to keep a fire extinguisher to hand, and some antiseptic dressings...

    Welding Mask Recommendations

I would go for a fixed shade at that price personally, but if using a cheap auto-darkening it's a good idea to get in the habit of blinking as you strike an arc, to mitigate any delay.

    Problem with Island 4x4 order

Always had good service. Had a couple of minor order issues over the years, but both resolved promptly and without quibbling.

How long have you owned it and how many miles have you driven?

Had my P38 11 years and added 170,000 miles (275,000 km) in that time. Still plenty of life in it yet.

Red Oxide Primer. The Big Questions.

Interestingly, most "Red Oxide" primers actually contain Zinc oxide, which is white in colour. The red pigment is added purely to appeal to those who remember how effective genuine Lead Oxide (the red stuff) primer used to be. The difference between red and grey primers these days is likely to...

    Hammerite problems

Although to be fair, if you put enough coats on thick enough, even my welding can look ok :)

    Hammerite problems

I've also found smooth hammerite to be a pain recently, even when applied on top of a good coat of red oxide primer. Not sure if there has been some change to composition, or if I'd just forgotten how crap it is. Wouldn't surprise me if there's some EU legislation to blame somewhere. My drive...

head light grills yes or no?

I took mine off, wasn't difficult to fill the holes myself, and happy with the paint job from a halfords rattle can. There's a thread on here somewhere, and I'm still happy with results 2 or 3 years later.

    Wow!

Pity it's just a concept, and it's not actually possible to buy one.

    dishwasher cleaner

I did that once. The next day I left the Machine Mart catalogue open on the coffee table at the parts washers page. I love my parts washer. They even printed my quote next to it in the catalogue :)

E bay Rant!! Why do people put things up for sale and then never reply to contact

Blocking someone because he hasn't contacted you will solve the problem, for sure.
