    Final Stage Resistor

The only way to confirm is by changing the FSR . They are relatively cheap but don't fall into the trap of buying a pattern part, only buy OEM or you will be changing it again very soon. If your pretty athletic you can change it in about 15 mins

    MK4 BMW Satnav unit

If your audio doesn't work it's prob due to water ingress in the rear quarter, I would be suspect of the sat nav having gone the same way. Just because it hasn't got a disc in the drive shouldn't affect anything else

    Gearbox problem

It does sound like it could have overheated, the oil cooler is a little inadequate unless its in tip top condition, it is also fed by the bottom few rows of the main radiator which gets choked up with filth.id start with changing that as they are relatively cheap and easy to install

    Steering column ecu

There are plenty of places that will repair an ecu though. I've found one in Kent that will repair them and give a lifetime guarantee
  6. P

    Steering column ecu

No, you have to buy the full upper column for around 3k just for the sake of a circuit board that prob cost a couple of quid to make

    Steering column ecu

I have been in the process of trying to access the steering column ecu which as been giving me jip. According to rave it is not serviceable as it is in a housing fitted with non removable pins and in the event of failure the whole upper steering column has to be replaced. I have however managed...

Which is better 4.4 or the supercharged 4.2 V8

I was merely responding to you're 'it might just be mine' comment. It wasn't an I'm alright jack response, as iam not an arsehole

Which is better 4.4 or the supercharged 4.2 V8

There's also no problem with flooring it with low volume. I usually let my gas run out before I refill and there's no indication to when it's about to happen

Which is better 4.4 or the supercharged 4.2 V8

My 4.4 on LPG is faultless , never misses a beat and has seemless transition from petrol to gas and back again

    "Best" way to spend £10k

It's not much of a contest l322 4.4 is the only choice!

Which is better 4.4 or the supercharged 4.2 V8

I'm surprised by rusting, do you live on the coast? Think I'd stick with the one you've got rather than upgrade by 3 yrs , hardly seems a point and you don't know what trouble you're buying. Better the devil you know and all that

I didn't need any mitre cuts , supports only needed to be laid out in a concertina pattern or indeed a series of I's

    oil leak from gearbox?

Not too heavy, you can cut them in half and make 4 ramps. Are u a hippo or a mouse!?

    oil leak from gearbox?

Put a grapple hook on the back of a passing train! You'll soon have plenty! Good for landscaping your garden as well!

    oil leak from gearbox?

If you want cheap and easy ramps just get your self a couple of railway sleepers and bevel the ends with a chainsaw.simples , drive straight on with no worries bout them giving way

    EAS issue

Now I think about it, I believe there is an upgraded muffler that you can get for around £40. Not sure if stealers sell them though. Try island 4x4

    EAS issue

I've heard of the exhaust ( gold cone ) been drilled out , but not sure how successful this is.
