I drive my 300 without the fan and even towed my caravan down to Wales without it ! If I was stuck in traffic on a very hot day my arse hole would start twitching a bit though! :eek:Its a good idea to keep it handy with a viscous spanner in the back.

Sounds like its sucking air in somewhere. Take the fuel filter of and see if its draining diesel back into the fuel tank. fuel filter should be full when you unscrew it.If its not its draining back .

I use a strap wrench to hold the pulley still on my 300 then hit the vicous spanner clockwise with a rubber mallet and it usually does the trick.

My 300 tdi used to stall at junctions but only when on veg oil mix,so I went back to straight derv. Then I changed the lift pump and took it out for a spin [feeling pleased with myself] it then started to cut out and would not run for more than a few minutes before cutting out.Got brought home...

Mine fell off so I mended it with a piece of old cast iron down pipe and sealed it with stove rope and high temp silicone!:D

Just picked up a couple of these from my local Home Bargains store. The spec is ACEA B4 , API CG 4. Viscol brand has been around since 1861 and is made by rock oil in Warrington.:)

Check the infamous fuel flow and return pipes [under removable panel in boot floor] The flow pipe gets rusty and allows air into the fuel lines. The sedimenter is another vulnerable place where air gets in.Check for diesel round the housing.

It might be pulling in air in the fuel lines somewhere.Check round the sedimentor for signs of diesel and the fuel sender pipes under the panel in boot floor. Very common in old Disco's.

Most peeps on here havn't got a pot to **** in! So probably not the best place to ask! :D

Driving home last night my 94 auto disco started making a low trumpet sound from under the front that was intermittent and seemed to get a bit louder slowing down at junctions.Has anyone got an idea what it could be? Im guessing propshaft but need advice. Just my luck as the clutch went on the...
