If its a manual box then it sounds like the clutch slipping it should be more noticeable in the higher gears ( 5, 4 ,3) The clutch change is a bit of a job - not complicated - just heavy work.............

Don't buy Hankook tyres !!! Noisy as hell and lethal in the wet I just took mine off and replaced with General grabbers (I'm also on 15 inch rims) Feels much safer

Surely if you can reconnect power the rear window will drop .....

Changed my front dics and pads too today Discs were rusty as hell but came off easily - pads were quite new meaning that some jerk had put new pads on fecked discs

The OP brings up a good question - its fine for LR to recommend changing all 4 at the same time and of course having the same make on all 4 corners. I had a similar issue - ****ty Hankooks fitted when i bought the car. Fronts are pretty much worn but the rears are still good (no rotation) Now...

sounds grim ............... :) if water got in as far as the turbo then the chances are that it did the real damage inside the cylinders with some degree of hydrolock !!! Does it make strange noises now ? Does the engine turn over ok ??

did my shocks too - replaced all 4 last week - first time removed since the car was new in 2004 !!! what a job...............technically simple but rusted bolts and stuff and who designed the rear shocks so that you have to open the brake circuit to remove the shock - fecking idiots !!!!!!!!!!!!!

does sound like the chain if the cam shafts aren't moving during cranking i had this with a 3 litre BMW diesel engine - i changed the engine for a second hand one - repair is probablly not an option - do a search on www.bimmerforums.co.uk

the engine needs to run to see the fuel correction data and it would be very unlikely that all 4 cylinders say zero ! this observation is based on using BMW DIS - on a bmw
