The illustrations in the workshop manual have the top and bottom. I think it's a common lurk to swap them so they're horizontal to make bleeding easier. So long as the flexy is going to the top (point of least movement) I can't see the problem in having them horizontal...

The other options: Britpart - they came from Richards last time I asked. I got my SWB one from Ribble Valley - mainly because they had it in stock and I didn't want to wait for it direct from Richards.

Buying direct from Richards is one way (mine cost just over £2000) with extra fuel tank hangers and bolt up x-member that was two years ago though...I really need to pull my finger out!

Never had a problem with bulbs/holder on mine other than rust and that can be prevented with a good dose of copper ease

How did they test the handbrake? Other stuff should be a doddle. If the hand brake really is out it probably just needs a new oil seal and will be full of gearbox oil... Welding is always the must subjective and depends on the tester. Have an ask round a good welder should be able to advise...

James is right of course but the drain plug might just need the ****e poking out of it, mine was full of oily muck but the innards didn't need a clean beyond the usual flush. What did the water look like that came out? Are you after doing a real engine fettle or just get it running again. Glad...

I don't think you can buy a repair section. I just used a bit of angle iron and filled the rest with scraps and weld. It's held up ok so far. And my welding is pretty poor!
