    Coil Spring Confusion

Just a quick follow up, it drives so much better on standard springs!! Also no problems with my big wheels on standard height though not tested in an off-road environment yet.

    New galvanised Bulkhead

I located an excellent condition 300tdi bulkhead which had never been repaired and only had minor surface rust in 2 areas. Cost about £800. I then got it shot blasted and galvanized myself. It's worth contacting any land rover specialists garages in your area and let them know what you're...

    Bulkhead sound proofing

Yep I got it galvanized myself, they drilled a hole at the top on one side and dipped it at an angle.

    Bulkhead sound proofing

I'm looking to add some sound proofing to my interior and swaying towards the dodo mat style where it's peeled and stuck to metal. My question is , is it advisable to stick this to the bulkhead interior considering it may trap water and promote corrosion, or am I worrying about nothing? (My...

    Coil Spring Confusion

I'd assumed that the hd standard height springs would be for standard weight. I didn't see any additional info regarding carrying extra weight like you see with terrafirma hd springs. I've cleaned up my old old standard springs and will fit these to ascertain the height and handling.

    Coil Spring Confusion

It's about 5mm shorter. I've fitted one front and the ride height is the same as the terrafirma side.

The grey are the 2" lift springs. I would like the yellow to compress by 50mm.

    Coil Spring Confusion

So I've got terrafirma medium 2 inch lift springs on my 90 and decided that I wanted to remove the lift but still have firm springs. Purchased some britpart hd yellow springs standard height. The confusing thing is the lbs rating and open spring length of the britpart is identical to the...

    LED indicator problem

Usually the hazard switch is faulty and causes problems like this. They're pretty cheap to replace.

    Front Drive Vibration.

If you've got castor corrected front radius arms then this makes the UJ prop angle worse. Instead of wide angle prop you should try a double cardon but these aren't cheap. These are only generally needed for lifts more than 2" but every landy is different. If your wide angle prop does work keep...

    LED indicator issue..........

Sounds like your hazard switch is faulty, they are pretty cheap to buy. I replaced mine as was getting weird indicator issues and everything works properly now.

I blame the galvanising on my chassis making the holes smaller. Didn't want to enlarge the holes.

I would just like to say

Yep, I got dragged into a full-ish restore... was originally just going to replace rear cross member. Trying not to replace everything!! All 3 doors are shagged and they can stay that way. Don't have to worry about dents or people stealing them Main parts have been replaced, chassis and bulkhead.

I would just like to say

Rebuilding a defender is a long and expensive process, the saying "the last 20% takes 80% of the time" is very apt. Would have been cheaper to buy a new sodding one
