the oil bath filter has a puddle of oil in the bottom to catch the dirt the filter i was describing (90na) is a paper element type, i put mine on the footwell in my 109 2a i have a 200tdi disco filter under the bonnet of my 88" bitsa strapped on top of the engine, it's messy but it filters...

i use the old 90na airbox with its legs cutoff in my 2a, having cut the legs off it lays nicely on the passenger footwell with a little padding underneath to stop rattles the 90 airbox is about an inch shorter than the 200 disco one which you'll struggle to fit on the footwell but still allows...

that doesn't look like any Series/Rover axle i've seen both my 2a and 3 axles have the drain bung in the centre underneath, the vent is in the long side of the axle tube NOT on top of the diff housing the bulge in the diff pan (for the crownwheel) is also to the long side of the axle...

i have both a 109 and an 88", neither have a steering damper fitted and neither need one fitting both are used on road and off the tarmac around greenlanes in Wales

i'll guess you're going to need a stronger gearbox to go with that engine (6bt) then plus probably stronger halfshafts and diffs then i suspect you'll be needing to move/remove crossmembers, along with modify the bulkhead and tunnel (possibly the seatbox as well) to accomodate all these...

i don't know about stronger but definitely harder to find and lower geared to allow for the 9.00 tyres, no facility as far as i know to take an overdrive of any kind

my bitsa is still on the "candles", it's used offroad and as a daily driver at all times of the year day or night, keep the lenses clean and aimed properly and they work quite well (don't forget to clean your windscreen) with the overdrive my bitsa will clear 80mph and usually is travelling at...

sometimes the old sealed beam lamps are a better item, i've seen a few of the modern halogen units full of water/crap when off roading, the sealed beam units don't suffer from that choices and uses

ok you say it's an 88" and we have someone here trying (mistakenly) to tell you the difference between 2a and 3 chassis construction... ALL 88" chassis were corner welded as were ALL 2/2a 109 chassis, ONLY the S3 109 chassis became channel pressings with a centre weld there are subtle...

3litre Rover sixes have been put into swb's, i've seen at least two put into 88" models and my dad put one into a 1952 Series1 swb so unless the 6bt is significantly larger than the old Rover unit it'll fit, how the ancient chassis/suspension will handle that power (not to mention the gearbox)...

i'm pretty certain you'll also find that the lwb master cylinder is a different part number to the old 88" master cylinder with 10" SLS drums so i suspect it does actually shift a different amount of fluid
