This box came out of a v8 110 It's a manual and is mated to an lt230 transfer box but is like no other landy box I've seen before Can't find a serial number Thanks

There's defo lots of play in the track rod I think trackings ok ,il try swapping wheels front to back

There's play in it ,I jacked her as i have a vibration at speed

Could anyone recommend a quality track rod for my defender ? I fitted a delphi set (which I thought were quality) and one has failed after 12000 miles Thanks

I'm aware of the reasons why she may have a newer front end on ,ie tax exempt status or been crashed but it never bothered me What ordinary classic car is truly original after 50 or so years ?

Yes she seems to have a series 3 front end Better to have a new series 3 bulkhead than a rotten series 2 bulkhead !

Series 2a was rebuilt about 10 years ago and done a few hundred miles since ,last motd 2016 Had a new galv chassis ,new bulkhead (not galv) new doors ,fairey over drive ,cat flap Running a 2.5 diesel sherpa engine (smokes a bit on start up) Runs and drives well 9k TD11 scottish borders

Would be way too much work as I assume you would need to convert to coils

14mm spanner should get em off but they may be 5/8" I've seen them that rusty that they need to have the heads cut off with a grinder

I have the same set except they are branded as sealy ,been realy good had them about 10 years now I broke the 13 mm as I was hitting it with a hammer ! 8-32 mm will be fine for most jobs on the landy ,I also have a big britool pipe wrench which gets used alot Cheap 3/4 socket set as the nut on...
