good point, had forgotten that, had to re-use the existing lock when I did mine, the holes for the lock and screws were there just no lock

steel was better iirc, my s1 chassis is in better shape than my s3 chassis but it has a plate under the drivers seat area, one dumb iron has been replaced and possibly a rear spring hanger. up until a year or two ago you could still get new chassis for them so some of the "unplated" ones could...

a landy is slightly better since it is higher up than a car so being on the wrong side is less of a disadvantage but I wouldn't want to be on the wrong side all the time especially just to save a few quid, guess some people might not mind I have taken an rhd car to france on hols and also...

why would they want one with the steering wheel on the wrong side?

would one of those domestic steam cleaners be up to the job? I use one on the insides, never tried it on an engine though

it says 29 is the charge light in that legend, not 28 or am I missing something? I mistook 18 for the dynano seem to remember something about dynamos not delivering charge at low revs wasn't that one of the reasons alternators came on the scene?

if 29 is the charge light it seems to be the same principle as for the altenator diags, ignition to dynamo sounds like the holder is earthing to the dash
