1998 300tdi Pulled onto the M4 this evening in the normal chaos of rain and lorries and noticed that the green light for indicators was flashing on the dashboard. Thought indicator hadn't cancelled when I pulled off top of slip road, but pushing switch stem up or down didn't cancel the light...

I've got a similar problem with a wet passenger footwell. I've not checked yet but I'm told there is a big rubber grommet somewhere high up at the back of that footwell where the wiring goes through the bulkhead, and that this sometimes lets water through. From the engine side it is hidden...

OK, in case anyone else has the same problem in the future... Took the console out again and had another close look. The handbrake lever does not seem to come apart*. Both the pivot points involved, for the lever itself and the pawl on the pushrod, are pressed fittings that a diy mechanic can't...

+1 to resurrect an old thread. :( How do the bits of the lever come apart, the button, push-rod, internal spring, etc?

More advice needed please... I've had the console out again, lifted the handbrake to vertical and corrected the position of the ratchet and push-rod. However, it's not working. It's as if the spring in the handle has failed; the push button isn't being pushed out and the ratchet (pawl?) isn't...

Well, read the first few pages of this thread last night and ordered a new cb rig to put in the disco. I had one years ago for my old IIa and tried to re-install it in the disco a few months back (I had the head-lining out so it seemed like a good time to put an aerial in and thread the cable)...

The Wye and Welsh do a lot of RTV trials (or used to when I was trialling!). Might be a bit far south for you but they have events as far north as Hay on Wye. Wye and Welsh Land Rover Club : Index Good fun and addictive.

Also interested, would be keen to hear what the accurate info on this lane is. It used to be a good drive but I don't fancy having my vehicle impounded and crushed and a load of points on my license cos I've got duff info. :o(
