Over summer I was doing 320 mile round trips every two weeks in my 2a 109, standard 2.25 petrol, overdrive and 7.50 x 16 commercial tires. and if kept to 45-50 I could touch 30mpg. The advice I would have is keep a 2ltr bottle of water and a can of engine oil... But I am talking from a 2.25...

Thanks for that, heard of people killing boxes with 200tdi conversions, but not heard about the v8's, and a v8 is more appealing in a hybrid than a tdi to me :D

Im after a set of 15x6.5 or 15x7 steel rims to fit a defender, dont have to be in perfect condition but I'm on a very tight budget so cant be too expensive. Just going to be used for pay and play days so I don't need perfection.

nobody told me about the bomb hole first time, I just sort of fell into it!! I went round the island in a mates defender and that was up to the windscreen, so I won't be going round there any time soon! :)

I sometimes take my series through it on the way home from college, but even at its lowest its proved a bit tricky if you find the deep part (dont talk to me about moisture in the dizzy haha)

Well, just to let you know, the MOT man found a hole I'd missed, which means its failed, but I should still be able to come to Granby with you guys on the 29th

Thanks Andy, got everything obvious done, oil levels all checked and welding done, just the rear tires that are a bit sketchy, but still just legal.

Landy due for MOT tomorrow, so it all depends on that for me!
