Cheers,as you can tell I like to stand out. I did have a series 3 gearbox in it for the last 8 years and it's been fine considering the abuse it gets offroad,you just have to take it easy in first gear but I've put a 2a box back in now so will have to see how that goes,should be ok cos I heard there a stronger box.

Thanks for that, heard of people killing boxes with 200tdi conversions, but not heard about the v8's, and a v8 is more appealing in a hybrid than a tdi to me

me too. power steering is a **** off road my old girl was eating dampers and arms i find no p.steering is a blessing even with a broken couple knuckles on me.
