    Disco 1 Newbie immobiliser woes

Update now I've checked every joint on the alarm PCB, I refitted the green box & it made all sorts of clicks & buzzes. Indicators flashed for a while as though the siren should also be going off, the key fob does nothing to stop this. I've noticed a loud high pitched buzzing that's also coming...

    Disco 1 Newbie immobiliser woes

Still banging my head against a brick wall with this 1, getting desperate now! Could somebody PM me a link or even better still a photo showing me where on the EDC pump I have to run a wire from 12V to get fuel to my injectors? I've had so much conflicting information, mostly either to do with...

    Disco 1 Newbie immobiliser woes

Thanks hifly, I've finally waded through everything I've read on forums & can now say from 1st hand knowledge that; 300tdi auto with EDC does not have a spider immobiliser It's possible to get it cranking over on the key by grounding the ignition relay Putting 12v across the stop solenoid...

I think it's the EDC fuel pump, does running a live feed to the stop solenoid still work?

    Disco 1 Newbie immobiliser woes

Thanks for the replies guys, if I've got fuel to the pump but not injectors I'd assume that the would be OK? I'll have a look tomorrow though. I'm assuming that there's something wrong with the vehicle security from the initial symptoms as though the alarm was going off (indicators flashing) &...

    Disco 1 Newbie immobiliser woes

Thanks for the reply, there doesn't seem to be a spider unit as I've got the dash out & can't see anything that resembles it, the door lock on the drivers side is knackered (key won't turn!)

    Disco 1 Newbie immobiliser woes

Still really struggling with this problem, I've got fuel to the pump but nothing to the injectors. I'm unsure what to do. It cranks ok, when I switch on the ignition I can hear the fuel pump buzzing, I've tried to connect the black/white wire to 12V which creates the same buzzing, always no fuel...

    Disco 1 Newbie immobiliser woes

Guys, I've had a few issues with my non starting D1 300tdi auto. I'm certain it's the immobiliser / alarm. History: recently bought, it's dog rough but seemed to be a decent runner. Central locking was iffy then stopped working altogether. I went away for a week & was told my hazards were...

    Disco 1 300tdi indicators won't stop

Thanks KNine I was at Paddocks yesterday & mentioned this problem to the guy behind the counter. Apparently this fault isnt uncommon & connected with a connector under the steering column? Has anybody else come across this, I believe the connector is meant to be in a cross shape & made out of...

    Disco 1 300tdi indicators won't stop

Thanks for the reply Thomo, I'd like to have indicators really. Is it a simple case of finding the alarm unit (wherever it is) & unplugging it? Central locking is a bonus if I can keep it but realistically if I can have normal indicators & have to use the key I can live with that

    Disco 1 300tdi indicators won't stop

Guys, I've tried the search option but I'm struggling using my phone. I've been away for the last week & had a message that for the last week my hazards have been flashing, the battery was obviously flat when I got home but was able to start it with jump leads. At 1st I thought I'd left the...

    Back with a Green Oval

Been away from these forums for the last 3 years, met some great guys on here from North Yorks when I had a Freelander until I gained too much confidence & killed it trying to take it places that Defenders struggled. After the gaylander died I got myself a Jeep Cherokee (KK) which was my daily...

Great vid, love Ramsden Road, did it in my Freelander TD4 a few months ago

What tyres do you have on your freelander

Got the original ATs on my TD4; had them on for about 6 months & cant fault them for green laning, road (a little more noisy, no tramlining, slightly increased fuel consumption) & towing a horsebox across muddy fields. As long as you realise these are AT not MT you wont be disappointed imho..

    Newbie with intermittent judder :(

Sounds like thats the area to concentrate on, typically a judder when pulling away indicates the Dual Mass Flywheel is borked. I hope this isnt the case as it's expensive to replace. Best of luck!
