Guys,
I've had a few issues with my non starting D1 300tdi auto. I'm certain it's the immobiliser / alarm.
History: recently bought, it's dog rough but seemed to be a decent runner. Central locking was iffy then stopped working altogether. I went away for a week & was told my hazards were flashing intermittently & when I got back the battery was dead. Managed to jump start it for the 1/2 mile trip home & the indicators (not off hazard switch though) flashed all the way back. The next day it was dead as a door nail so I've had the battery on charge for a week.
I've tried to crank it over today & a few problems
1. Indicators flash intermittently
2. Red immobiliser is usually off but will sometimes strobe, stay solid (on) or flicker with the indicators. When it strobes or flickers I can hear a buzzing that sounds like it's coming from behind the glovebox
3. It will sometimes try to crank, other times nothing or click violently with the relay in the driver footwell flashing
I've grounded the relay which now allows the engine to crank but not catch, this I think is down to the fuel cut off solenoid (I'm an Internet expert from reading forums today)
My problem is that I'm not too mechanically minded, I've found the fuel pump & I think I've found the anti-tamper box that has 3 torx screws & a bolt I think I'll have to drill.
I need advice whether I'm on the right track & should see 3 wires under the cover when I drill it off then which wire I have to connect to the switched live.
