Ok the only way to fail on a no. plate light is A. it doesn't work (not illuminating no. plate) B. it shows a white light to rear So amber light isn't white and it illuminates no. plate :doh: theres nothing to say it has to be white :eek:

Correct :D So i fit an amber bulb and bring back for retest PASS, PASS and ADVISE or FAIL ;)

after market HIDs only illegal if they are over certain lumin (i think its 1500) as you probably can't tell at time of test you have to give the presenter the benefit of the daught and pass.

No its not an mot fail its a pass and advise, For the MOT all you need is TWO red lights one on each side and roughly the same level, any other lights that come on with the side lights are auxiliary/additional lights and are not testable items. It might be illegal, but not a MOT fail...

For a vehicle to fail an MOT it has got to be in a bad state, the level a vehicle needs to be at to pass is low very low, and there are some things that would pass that you would not believe. I put a question up on another thread (blue side lights) regarding rear side lights on a discovery 300...

U think thats stupid here's a question for you all, Disco 1 has four rear side lights, If one isn't working, is it pass, fail or advise?? If they are all working but the lens is broken/missing on one rear side light pass, fail or advise?? :)

Battery isolator is exactly that it isolates the battery, a kill swith isolates the battery it will also kill the engine if wired correctly as per race car cars ect

Main thing keep them out of the sun.
