It may be woth changing all the oils in both diffs, gearbox and transfer case catching the oil in a clear container and inspecting it for debris/bits of metal.

My Disco 300 tdi failed the mot because I had removed it due to doing a 2 inch lift. I had to fit spacers (tow bar spacers work fine) to the ARB to drop it by 2 inches. However, my brother-in-laws Disco passed the mot with it removed, so I guess it depends on how strict your mot man is.

+1. If you make your own you can spend on small details to get it perfect. Having never had to replace a brake hose, I can only assume that the standard LR ones are fine. If you're thinking of lifting your truck sometime in the future, then this may be an opportunity to fit extended hoses.

Leave the prop off to avoid all the transmission wind up and eventual IRD and/or diff failure. You can always bolt it back on for a snowy period. And welcome.

That guide is bollocks. Jack up any wheel off the ground using the bottle jack. Now with the diff lock NOT engaged gently try to drive away. The wheel in the air will rotate but that will be it. Now stop the wheel from rotating by using the brakes, engage the diff lock and try to drive away...
