defender 300tdi slow to start and spluttering

Well you asked for advice - the clear pipe should be a tight fit to the other fuel line so won't leak and won't introduce air - but will allow you to see air in the fuel. If you don't want help - don't ask for advice ;)

defender 300tdi slow to start and spluttering

If you have bubbles between lift pump and filter you need to put some clear pipe between tank and lift pump - so you can narrow down where the bubbles start ;) You might be drawing in air BEFORE the lift pump ;)

Egr Valve bypassed now not starting?

Hi mate :) Removing the egr shouldn't cause the engine not to start - so..................... Check: 12v feed to the stop solenoid (electrical connection to solenoid good and tight) Crack fuel connections on top of injectors to ensure fuel delivery to injectors Injector leak off...

Head gasket went, now Disco won't start.

Might be a dodgy fuel stop solenoid........ if your car is a manual: remove the solenoid from the injection pump and remove the plunger from the solenoid - replace the stop solenoid and start the engine - stall to stop :) If your car is an auto - i would suggest changing the stop solenoid for...

Can't get SWR down below 3?

I use a "modulator" cb aerial on my 90 and its located in the aerial hole on the drivers side wing - so its quite close to the windscreen and i get a swr of just over 1:2 :)

    engine cuts out,help

I'd start with the clear fuel pipe then mate - you only need a couple of inches inbetween the tank/lift pump and lift pump/filter and filter/injection pump but if you have replaced the fuel lines from the tank and disturbed the tank i would be looking at the fuel connections at the fuel tank :)

    another rear door lock question

It will be very difficult to remove the lock barrel - might be easier replacing the whole lot - but if it were me i'd drill it out :)
  20. DEFENDER90-DAZ

    another rear door lock question

You have to remove the lock mechanism from the door - then you will see where the lock barrel fits in the mechanism - on 1 side of the barrel you will see a small hole - push a pin through the small hole with the key inserted and then pull the barrel out ;)
