I put a pair on my 109 about a year ago they're fine. Just slap some paint on swap the locks etc over and away you go.

Why are some of you older blokes like me paying so much? I'm 46 and I haven't paid over 100 quid fully comp for several years now. Swiftcover, sureterm etc always seem to be the cheapest, for standard landies anyway.

Get rid of all that unnecessary plumbing and put the veg oil straight in the proper tank. Why complicate things?

Anyone know if a 200tdi alternator with a v belt pulley will do for a 300tdi with serpentine belt if the pulley is swapped over, and indeed if the pulleys are interchangeable>

I've regularly towed my 16foot 3500kg trailer with discos and similar loaded on. Getting the balance right on the trailer is absolutely vital unless you like changing your underwear at the side of the road. Worst thing I've dragged lately was this so called caravan. Don't know the weight but...

Last lot I had I cut a slot in the head with a thin disc on the grinder then took em off with a big home made screwdriver type thingy. Took about 5 minutes for the lot.

Without changing the gearing in some way it won't go any faster with a tdi fitted, just get to it's screaming top end speed fairly instantly and stay there without any problems up hills.

Would have thought any possible mpg increase would be more than offset by the price of the 2 stroke oil tbh.

It might help if you could be a tiny bit more specific about the location. Wales is a fairly big area.

I've got a set of bfg muds that have done well over 50k and still have about 10mm tread. Not as good as they used to be in mud but still great on the road.
