Lent a friend of mine a carpet cleaner, full instructions on how to use it and shown various bits.

Drops it back and doesn't say a word, go to pick it up and the catch is missing spring and screws are missing out of it.

Bit that ****ed me off was it has been used all of 4 times in 2 years and was perfect when lent.

Sent a text saying bits missing and not impressed, no reply-so what he has forgotten is £100 I will owe him for a job he did.

So my plan is you broke it you get it fixed, or take it on and I'll buy a new one with the money I did owe you:mad:

Kuntish behaviour, had he said sping came out or similar, I wouldn't be annoyed-but saying nothing and thinking I'd accept it:doh: mistake

Did you lend it to S71 or summit?:D:D:D

we all know it can be difficult to own up but its not like you wernt going to notice fairly quickly ,or maybe like a lot of people nowadays if its yours dosent matter

Had the same thing a while ago. Lent a grinder to a so called mate, he brought it back when I was out and just left it on the doorstep, fookin burnt the motor out the tw&t. Not impressed. Another time lent an arc welder with all the bits with it to another so called mate. After phoning him several times asking for it back it finally turned up, again while I was out, rusty as **** and with all the bits, mask, hammer etc missing. Moral of the story, tell em to **** off and buy one like I had to.

No, :p -I believe you return it as you found it, only lend stuff to a few people I trust.

As before had they said, look this has happened and there are the bit's if it needs repairing a offer to pay-wouldn't have minded so much.

Still we'll see what happens, if they bull**** me I'll give them the old one and use their cash to a new one, or they can **** about getting spares and when fixed-their cash returned.

Still next time they will get told to **** off!!!!

I know what you mean. One of the guys at work keeps pestering me to borrow my Modis. He's one of those that wants you to take it to him, pick it up from him etc. He's also the type of bloke that would leave it in plain view on the back seat of an unlocked car.

my father had a go at me because i had taken his lump hammer??? told me he was sure i had it.After weeks of asking him to look at my car because of a banging noise on front he finally looked at it only to find was his lump hammer he had left jammed in chasis last time he did work on car:doh:called me from my hole to pole and said told you!you had it!:eek:

Put 55 litres of diesel in my dads car after I had to drain my tank. He promised me he would pay me for it but is now complaining he has no money to fill his other cars...:eek:

I wouldn't let it out my sight.

Only two people drive or borrow my vehicles and it is on the understanding that break it, you own it and it is on THEIR insurance:D.

Think the way forward is Full Deposit or **** off from now on for most people.

I borrowed a car transporter trailer, the winch cable snapped but it was frayed anyway. I bought a new cable before I returned the trailer the next day. Only fair if you borrow it and it breaks, you should fix it. Some people are pricks, you can't change them.
