    265/75/16 spare wheel fitting ?

I used to carry a spare 265/75r16 on the standard rear door bracket. You might need to turn the bracket upside down to gain a little bit of space.

    Land rover 90 2.5d na stopped and won't re-start

Sounds like the symptoms of a fuel blockage somewhere. Did you put a new fuel filter on? It's quite likely that having run very low on fuel you've dredged up all the muck from the bottom of the tank and sucked it into the system.

best way to change a clutch?

I did mine a few months ago by taking the gearbox out. Bearing in mind that all the work is underneath with all the **** falling in your face, and that the gearbox/transfer box is awkward to manouver even with a crane, next time I'll take the engine out. Taking the gearbox out requires a lot...

2003 Defender TD5 NO electrical power at ALL after changing Clutch Plate

Follow the earth cable from the battery. On my old fender it's bolted to the chassis using one of the gearbox crossmember bolts and to the transfer box.

2003 Defender TD5 NO electrical power at ALL after changing Clutch Plate

Dunno where the earths are on a td5 but it does indeed sound like you forgot to put it back.

    Gearbox Vibration?

I would say that if you can detect rotational play in the propshaft sliding joint it's well and truly time for a new one. Play in transfer box output bearings is common too but your symptoms sound typical of worn propshaft joints. Also you do describe quite well what it would feel like if you...

    quick question?

Tyres sound a bit small to me which will lower the gearing.

    It's got another MOT!

My seats are stuck fast too. The MOT bloke didn't look at them I don't think.

What colour shall I paint my defender!!?

I used to have a bright yellow defender. Fkin horrible it was and everywhere I went I could see people mouthing "there's that t**t in that yellow Land Rover!" My current one was red, then it was yellow, and now it's the only proper colour that any Landy should be, GREEN.

    Fuel filter renewal

You'd very likely flatten your battery before you fill the filter up. When there's air in the system trying to pump diesel through just compresses the air pockets resulting in the fuel going nowhere. You need to remove all the air for the fuel to be pumped through properly.

    Another 12 months!

There's a certain satisfaction to be had when your 22 year old Land Rover, which is used every day as a workhorse and isn't a pampered pet, passes it's MOT with the minimum of hassle. A couple of little welds, a new light switch and off we go for another year.

    Fuel filter renewal

You'll probably have to bleed the whole system through now there'll be air drawn into the injector pump. I love it when a two minute job turns into a pile of hassle.

1984 110 2.5 TD non runner - advice before attempting to get it going please...

Nobody's mentioned the earths. Bad earth, no starty. Try connecting a jump lead from the battery negative to a solid earth point on the chassis. I'd be inclined to give it a bump start just to see if it'll run so long as you know it isn't seized. You don't want to spend money only to find the...

    The Land Rover Wave

If someone waves to me I'll wave back but I then spend the next five minutes thinking "who the F**k was that?". Stopping to help is a completely different matter and has got nothing to do with waving like a tit every time you see a Land Rover. Maybe I'm getting old but when I see a fashion...

    The Land Rover Wave

Is it just me that thinks waving at some f***er just because he's driving a similar car to you is bloody ridiculous? And bitching because someone hasn't waved at you is even worse. I'm embarrassed to own a bloody Land Rover sometimes.

    Differences in MPG 200TDI Engine's

Also if you've got a roof rack on take it off cos it's costing you a fortune. An old 19j 110 we had a few years ago went 10mph faster once I took the massive rack off it. I never really measured the fuel consumption but it must have made a big difference.

    Differences in MPG 200TDI Engine's

It's your tyres. My 200tdi 110 does 30mpg driven carefully and never less than 25mpg caning it on the motorway or towing. But I have proper LR wheels with 7.50's on.

    Towing...auto or manual?

My 110 is a manual and is no problem towing any kind of trailer but we also have a Volvo estate with an auto box and it is absolutely fantastic for towing. Especially manouvering in tight spaces and reversing.

    Fuel blockage?

Diagnostics? You mean opening the bonnet and having a look. It's a 92 disco the most complicated part of it's electrical system is the radio.
