    Leak above spacer

Its not the sump gasket, its above the spacer (Ladder frame) which I am not sure can be removed from underneath?

    Leak above spacer

Hi, I have two annoying oil leaks which seem to be where the thick allumium spacer (which the sump bolts to) connects to the block. Question is can I remove this from underneath to fix? (200 tdi)

    Sump plug washer!

Ok big technical question! My previous sump had a large steel plug in it. My current has a brass one with a smaller (3/4 inch?) plug in it. Do I use the flat sump plug washer or the one that has a sort of double wall and compresses?

How much crankcase pressure do you have?

If I disconnect the pipe (to air filter) from the cyclone breather and put my finger over the cyclone breather outlet, I get quite a bit of pressure there. Is that normal?

    Payen Oil Seal nightmare

Just got the engine back in after a full recon. Sounds and runs lovely but oil dripping from both wading plug holes, so front and rear crank oil seal not holding! Has to come out again. My recon man used a Payen Dv720 full gasket set which had the seals in. Could really do without this! Anyone...

    Fuel lift pump broken?

Put a socket and bar on the nut of the crankshaft pulley and turn engine over until you get the resistance on the lift pump lever. It will be stuck on the cam at the moment

    Calipers?

I rebuilt with a kit and had a few problems. Would have been better to get exchange which are very reasonable, particularly at MM4X4

    Heat Shield

Have changed the front down pipe on 200tdi. There is a heat shield which sits on exhaust about underneath the clutch slave cylinder. Searched but can't find this mentioned anywhere or available on fleabay. Two questions. 1) Do I need one? 2) If so where can I get one! Cheers

    Oil cooler pipes

The Oil cooler which sits by side of radiator. This has two pipes with threaded connections to it. But right at the op there is a small (breather??) pipe which looks like it should have some kind of rubber pipe on it. Should it and if so where does it go!

    Vacuum pump

Ok on an engine rebuild. Can anyone talk me through (why) and how you align vacuum pump. There is the bottom base which fits onto a splined shaft, then the pump itself which fits in a key way. Thanks
