    Frrelander TD4 Won't start.

There are similar problems diagnosed on the Freelander section of the website. You may have a dodgy ignition switch, which will be a relatively straightforward fix. Cheers Blippie

    Aren't Freelanders great?

Ours has been good too. The last snow I had a great time in our old Defender, but this time I'm in the Freelander, and having a great time BUT being warm, able to hear the radio, defrosting easily, etc. Mrs Blip was last seen with the keys to her Puma 90 in one hand and a recovery rope in the...

    off road tyres

They do appropriate sizes in either General Grabber or BFG. Both makes have a very good reputation. Got nearly 90,000 miles out of our last set of BFGs and there was still loads of tread left. Good road manners and not much more fuel consumption. What surface will you be launching/recovering...

I think the "not a cubbybox but a seat with a storage flap" seat is a good idea. Cheers Blippie

What is high mileage for a TD4?

Our 2002 TD4 is approaching 110k, most reliable car we've ever had. Engine-wise we had to replace the fuel pump this year. The TD4 was introduced in 2000 so one would have to have driven 20,000miles/year to make 200k. Cheers Blippie Cheers

    get Vcu done or not?

For peace of mind you could change pretty much anything. But then would you have peace of mind in the new things? Leave it alone, save your money and enjoy your car. Cheers Blippie

Another vote here for linseed oil. Cheers Blippie

    Replacement alloys FL1

It's not the face lift, it's the changes around 2000 (01MY?) when the introduced bigger brakes for the TD4/V6. Later wheel will fit earlier vehicles but nit viseversa. Cheers Blippie

    HDC Speed

Certainly don't have this problem in my 1998 L-series or 2002 TD4. Must be about 4-5 mph at most, slightly faster than walking pace. Cheers Blippie

ATs will not necessarily be better on snowy roads than road tyres. Cheers Blippie

What can do in my new Freelander??

We run one of our Freelanders on BFG ATs and I notice NO extra noise and the handling is fine. Certainly worth thinking about though the Grabbers seem to have a growing fanbase. Cheers Blippie

    Tweaters missing!!

I sold a set on eBay for less than a tenner. The tweeters are AMR3019 but you could probably get the entire assembly for same money. Cheers Blippie

    Wiper Linkage kaput

Yes, it is an easy job, just a few bolts. In the meantime, you can hold the elbow joint together with a couple of cable ties, whichcwill keep you safely on the road for miles to come. Cheers Blippie
