Buying a synergy unit and maf

I was going to buy one today. Got to checkout and thought i'd better check out with insurer. Rang Axa. Big fat no. I explained that the 2e I was going to buy did not boost BHP or top speed (manufacturers claims). They rang underwriters. Bigger fatter no . They claim that anything that...

Bugger! ... Head gasket finally popped!

Did yours need the thermostat mod? When my HG went I was recomended to "re-plumb" to a later design where the thermostat ends up in a new housing at the back of the radiator.

None of the above either. Called in a favour and took it to a mates garage. Fault code reader identified fuel pressure fault. Replaced in line pump under wheelarch and bingo - good as new. Allthe symtoms pointed to turbo solenoid but i'm glad i didn't just dive in and change it. Beware...

I'm stumped - what on earth is this?

When mine went my mate who owns a garage tried to fit a universal over the outside but it wouldn't stay on. In the end I didn't bother. I put a bit of grease in every service and kept running it. When I sold it 35k later it was still going strong. The theory was if ever it got noisy or started...

    Freelander 1 trailer sockets

Not sure what the socket is that you found. I was told that 12s are wired direct to front of car. The last one I did was a genuine LR kit for 12s and it supplied another loom that went right through the car. So ans so of a job to do. Sorry:mad:. Tony

    Me new Freelander :)

Replacement speaker grilles are available. I can't remember if you need to remove the door card or not to replace. It happened to mine. The door had been dismantled to replace the lock solenoid and the plastic sheet not replaced properly. I can only assume that the infiltration of damp air...

    Cenrtal locking door solonoids

I changed two on my 3 dr a year or so ago. I picked them up second hand from one of the parts places on the net. They were a bit tricky but not too difficult. Word of warning -make sure you replace the plastic membrane and repair any tears or damp air comes through the speaker grilles and rusts...
