    Top Defender mods?

I have tinted windows, 2 amps, 6x9s, 6 inches and a sub in mine:D Well no sub now since some cretin broke the cone.

    Tyre widths

To me, wider is better. All the bollocks about cutting through mud to find firm ground is all well and good if you've got wheels as big as a tractor but with 33 or 34 inch tyres you don't want to sink. 265/85 r16 would be about as tall as you can go with a standard setup or 285/75. Mine are...

    gaylander petrol

My grandma had one when they firs came out and the head went after 12000 miles.

    reversing light

I don't know but it most probably is. Early freelanders in particular were more rover than anything else. If I remember rightly rover wheels fit. For some reason they used the stud pattern from rover cars instead of the land rover pattern which is much bigger.

    Snorkel

I have the safari snorkel, and in my opinion it's the best. It's fairly similar to a mantec but the head rotates which is useful. Paddocks were the cheapest when I got it.

    hight difference ??

My lifted fender on 35s won't fit with the roof lights but our discovery 3 will because it has air suspension which I can slam and look like a pimp.

    Locking wheel nuts

In the case of a spare, a good locking cover will be a deterrent but a thick chain through it is best. Opportunists aren't going to steal your wheels from your car. Not many people wonder around with a jack in their pocket.

any one got a cb radio

The problem with that is the range is short and they use batteries like they're going out of fashion. I find that walkie talkies are fine for that sort of thing. I've got a good set of 4 that will go a mile or so.

any one got a cb radio

I use a midland one from a show. Think it cost me about £80 for everything and I saved about £50 in total. It's spot on, I've had conversations with people from 20 miles away who were using CBs in their houses. It's currently not working but that's down to the cheapness of thunderpole's ariel...

    Raptor Bedliner Anone used it?

Strange as it may seem, I watched that and thought the same thing. I then had another thought, It sets like cement so how would you ever get any parts off afterwards? You'd maybe do it if you disassembled it then painted everything and then put it back together but that seems a lot of work to me.

    swing away wheel carriers

As secure as leaving the wheel on the back door.

Sheffield Landrovers dont have a chance!

I know of someone stealing the doors and bonnet off a fairly new defender from a dealership last week. Even climbed a perimeter, razor wire fence to steal them.

    Locking wheel nuts

I further that argument. Got 4 wheels off a defender that had locking nuts but he had lost the keys using only a chisel and hammer. Could have been even quicker but I was trying not to cause any damage to the alloys.

    Attempted theft eckington

It was only a crappy thing but it's saved me a car. I don't want to get paranoid about it but now I don't want to leave it anywhere. In future it will be in the compound with at least a disc lock on and it will not be left anywhere near any trees etc that people can hide in. I suppose that when...

    Attempted theft eckington

Thanks pal. I really was gutted. I got to it and the door was open and I thought it was a mate winding me up. As I got nearer I saw a wire running from inside to the bonnet and then my heart just sank. Got inside and it was a total mess. All the dash has been ripped out and destroyed. I am...

    Attempted theft eckington

Earlier today someone entered eckington school grounds in order to try and steal my defender. They have messed it up fairly badly, ignition barrel gone, wiring loom destroyed and the thug even decided to smash my sub for no reason what so ever. This was in broad daylight at around 11am and on...

    What is this Defender colour!??

If that paint is original then someone must have painted the arches. I'm fairly sure they never had painted arches.

    So ****ed off

I think everyone is missing the point. Yes, a 3 inch thick, bomb proof titanium spare wheel cover would have stopped them. The point is that you should be able to leave your car on the street without someone stealing the wheel from it. You should be able to leave it unlocked and no one steal...
