Johnny, what a thread. Great build, and despite all the issues, a great finished article. Made me wish I'd bought a series :p

    Hole in boot floor

Mr Noisey used a sheet of chequerplate, which I think I might copy. A lot cheaper. If you want to go authentic, I think the only one to avoid is britpart, apparently they are a little on the thin side.

    Hole in boot floor

I'd just get it done now, if the tin worm has set it it will only get worse, you may as well fix it and know its not going to bite you in the ass. I'd check under those wheelarch covers also, the floor sides might need doing also if its bad

    My First Disco

Small update, we are looking to move in the second week of Jan - provided the solicitors get their finger out, so I'm not doing anything that would mean I can't move the sucker. However, the alternator is shagged as far as I can work out, I get nothing out of it when the engine is running. Are...

    Chassis swap suggestions & opinions

Can you buy a disco 1 galv chassis? I know Richards chassis do one for the disco 2, but are they the same?

    disco complete strip out

I'm sure you probably could, but it will be noisy. I'd probably strip out the headlining and remove all the foam / cloth and then paint, or coat. Trim is fairly easy to loose, on the doors you could just replace with chequer plate or wood. Dash could be a bit more tricky with it holding all...

Discovery Rust - Boot, Sills and Wings

Looking good, the diff looked a bit of a nasty job, I suspect mine will be the same when I open it up, and I like the front bumper.

    Converting manual sunroof to electric

I think its fairly easy, you just need to motors and sunroof ECU / Switches. Considering doing the same to mine. I don't know if it saves enough space to fit the CB there though

Ouch - sounds brown pants time. Could have been worse - the wheel could have overtaken you first :P

    My First Disco

Slow progress at the moment, it looks like we are gonna be moving house within the next month or so, we've had our offer accepted on the house we wanted, so I'm now in the process of being taken for a ride by solicitors. I need to remove the fuel tank so I can finish the boot repairs, however...

Keep it going, even if there is no response it's a good resource for people like me who like pic heavy threads to help out fixing the tim worm in mine. Looks a really thorough job

I'd rather spend the cash now than when the chassis is completely rotten, or have to do the boot again.

Chassis Cleaning, Protection and Body Corrosion

Hi All, As part of my rebuild I now have the boot floor and soon to have the fuel tank out and I know some of this has been done to the death, but there seems to be a big mixed bag of opinion regarding chassis protection, from Waxoyl, engine oil to spilling goats blood and chanting in your...
